Welcome to pekingnese group,

My male Pek is mixed with tibetan spaniel, my female Pek is pure breed and only 6 months old...she is having her fierst period now.

Hi,

My Pek was born on Nov,she started her heat on last saturday,how long the heat will last, 2 weeks or 3 weeks ? I did not expect she will start so early as she is still puppy and little girl, really a suprise to me. Tongue

I guess all the male dog will come after me when I go to BU fro the Olympic day on this coming Sunday...will you be coming too ? Bring Ah Fat lah...she is so adorable...

hello...

I just recently acquired a Pek but don't know how to teach him toilet on the newspaper instead of the floor.

THe most problematic is he pee and poo without giving notice like circling or sniffing around...just walk, stand and pee.

Any advise?? Frown

my particolour sleve peke gave birth to one male pup and he is so tiny just the size of half my palm. Laugh

Hi,

It[s not difficult to toilet train,you may require puppy trainer if you really have problem.

First you have to check the time, normally puppy of 8 weeks old will pee and poo 1 or 2 hour once.once you catch hold of the time, it will be easy. if there is any accident, use the tissue paper to soak the urine,leave the tissue on the paper of the location u want him to pee. u may consider to use the cage training first, once the time is correct, release him form the cage and guide him to the toilet.

Puppy cannot hold urine so long, so don't put the cage too far away. u can moe further once he grow elder nad can hold longer.

It's takes only a little bit of time and don't scold him.

Some puppy will pee immedietely out of the cage,puppyy will not snioff nad circling if he wants to pee, he will circlle only if he want to pooo...

Hi J18,

After seeing all your PeK;s picture, i think I might neutered my Jiro & spay my Ayako...so if future need to buy Pek,will look for you...

but that may need to wait many years caused wife not agree me to get more dogs as she said she cannot baby sit so many

hello...Fluffy is male...about 3 months old loh.....i am thinking whether to neuter him, can you guys give me some advice? i kinda heart broken if he needs to go for operation....

frankly speaking, Peke is not easy to breed due to their body structure and the big head skull. And due to the flat mouth, the newborn need full time to look after them. I have so many sleepless night to be with the peke babies. Frown

haiz, even more time consuming than looking after human babies. Crazy

fluffy is so cute....no need to decide so soon lah,take your time....male not so troublesome lah,only problem is marking only...if female then have to take care for at least 21 days during on heat, I also 15-16.don't know waht to with Jiro & Ayako yet...Jiro is 3 years old and Ayako is 10 months old...soon she will be having her 2nd heat.. Frown

may be anotehr 3 weeks... Unsure

U can make decision after one year plus when he is fully grown..
