hello! cant help but read about pekingnese. had a white one. Mappy, she died when she was 9 months old. She had a defective heart and I guess the vet knew bout it but didnt inform us. She died in my Mum's lap just before taking her kai kai. Guess her heart couldnt take the excitement. we went back to the people whom we bought her and asked them to keep us inform if they had some more puppies for sale. they didnt come back to us...my guess is as good as yours....they knew about Mappy. that was in 1984. mka registered.

after that, we had 5 pekingnese cross pom. the last one died 3 years ago and they all lived over the ripe age of 13 years. Punky was 16 years old.

thought that pekingnese will always be my type of dog till i found my baby, pingpong. Tongue

he is a pug. they are adorable. am a pug lover for life now.

but i think my mum still longs for a pekingnese. if anyone of you out there, needs a home for a pekingnese. u can count on my parents.

wa...u r pekingese lover also ar.....welcome to join our group. But now u change ur style to pug ar...actualy i love to adopt pug also lah...jt hard to get it. Previously i saw a pug in a pet shop. But that one not nice (according to my felling), so i din buy him.

then you got a baby (pug) to adopt?

oh poor mappy. my nicky once fainted in the car. the vet said that it could be excitement and also his flat face (therefore a compressed nasal passage) that made him forget to breathe. i hope it is nothing to do with his heart, after hearing your experience. i pray to god my doggies (the loves of my life) are in good health and will be with me as long as they can!

my doggies very ok. wanted to take photos of them this morning but forget. wait for washing machine repair man, supposed to come at 10am. up to 11:30 still didn't come. so fed up, have to come to work, so forgot to take their photos.

no pug pups but got dalmatian pups. my mother's dalmatian just gave birth to 10pups. pingpong is too old to sire any pups...takut he die of a heart attack. he is pretty bulat n big. Tongue

At last I see someone with Pekingnese are in the forum....I was wondering why puppy.com member don't have Pekingnese meh ?

I have a POMPEK *Pomeranian mixed Pekingnese*,his name is Taro and he is already 8 years old,he has very nice dogsonality and me n my wife are looking for a female Pek or female Pom inorder to carry on Taro's nextr generation.

I am also confuse if I should take a Pek or Pom as I am not so sure about the pure breed Pekingnese or pure breed Pomaranian;s dosanality,hopefully you all can share with me ?

My Taro seldom barrk and I wonder Pekingnese bark ? I am concerning about the barking coz I ma staying in the apartment ?

Any idea if the price of Pekingnese without certificates ? IS you Pekingnese MKA or non MKA ?

oh...1 more pekingese lover here!!!! seldom ppl adopt pekingese lah..... u got pomeranian mixed with pek? i saw those puppy before in pet shop, quite nice.....can u show me ur doggies photo?

if u ask me, i will tell u tat i love pek more than pom! depend on u lah, may be ur favorate different with me!!!
my 1 is non mka, i bought 1k ++ each loh....

tat day i saw 1 pek in pet shop, he is in pure white color with mka cert, it cost 1800. Actually what is ur budget for it? i saw a pek selling in pet shop oli for 950 without cert.

i have 3 peks and they all are different. nicky barks once in a while, but lately he has been a bit mang-chang and barking a bit more. it is like a few woof-woofs and then that's all. he has a very manly and firm 'woof'.
tutu, my darling girl doesn't bark - she WAILS, in the middle of the night, sometimes suddenly, she goes 'ow, ow (softly), WAHHHHHHHHHHH (on top of her lungs)'.
lingling, my fat baby, is very gentle, she goes 'oo, oo, oo', very softly, like a sweet young lady.

don't know if that's answers your question. i guess it is the temprement of the doggie.

nicky is MKA. i got him about RM 1200. tutu no MKA, about RM 800. lingling MKA, about RM 1000 - we got her quite cheap because the owner left her at the pet shop to sell and if they could not sell her, he would have sold her to a breeding farm! we saw her a few times and decided to 'rescue' her. now she is happy and fat fat in our home. recently got her period and i think nicky tried his luck, maybe got babies on the way...

all! how are you? long time no see.

aiyoh, lately, sick lah, my nose so blocked! how is max and yuki?

still trying to take a good picture of my 3 babies. difficult lah, to get them together 3 at a time and all looking at the camera. sometimes, 2 look and 1 will turn her backside.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply...the dog in my avatar is his picture,

recently he eat alot n drink a lot,then discharge a lot too...over weight already,don't know what he is up too..I think he is going to be overweight.

I love long hair dogs like Pekingnese or Pomeranian....and I think I prefer Pengkinese more gua...

I've seen a white Pekingnese in the Pet shop too but hte price was too high...

I think what I want now !

Hi Terry,

Thank you for your reply....seems Pekingnese is not so popular in Malaysia..or may be most of them are kept at home to enjpy air-conditions ?

I only see a handful of Pek during the dog show or K9 day...but they are many many Shitzu...

I guess Pekingnese is more suitable for my life style as I am staying in apartment.

I am lokking for a female Pek....

My dog is cute...but recently having skin probkem,so mnay months already but yet still cannot recover,very sad...

See how first lah....let him fully recover than only get anohter Pekingneses lah !

skin problem ar....my doggies also got oh.....

how long u take bath for him once? cos tat day i brought my doggies went see doctor, doctor advised dun take bath for them too often. Around 10 days once......if can, u jt try it out and see how loh....

cos i also trying..hihi....

Hi all!!! at last i got my pekes' photos. so difficult to get them to look at the camera together, so i put them on the table. they all scared of heights

.

lingling is on the left, the big fat girl - she is the youngest but she is the fattest! tutu is on the right, she very kecil, half lingling's size but fiercer than her, always scream at her and steal her food. nicky is the handsome guy at the back!

yes, they fight. tutu fierce lor, when lingling in her cage, tutu will walk outside, look at her and start to scream at her. last time, lingling will keep quiet in a corner, now she scream back. after screaming back, she will quickly eat all her food, so that tutu cannot eat. that's why she so fat

lately, nicky also naughty. usually he and tutu in the same enclosure. a few times, we just pick tutu up and sayang her, brush her hair, let her walk free for a while. then when we put her back, nicky will charge at her and try to bite her. i think he jealous of the attention we give tutu. so we have to pick him up and sayang him too. aiyoh, like little babies, like that.

don't know if lingling is pregnant yet. she getting fat. when free, must bring her for scan.

Wah finally a Pekingnese section. Good Good. Hello all, I also have a Peke named Hazel. She is now 7 months old. I bought her from a petshop in SS2 coz it's so hard to find from breeder, newspaper ad etc etc. When I got her, she was only 5 weeks old poor thing. After a week got cold/flu and I scared at so young and from petshop, she can easily die from distemper/ virus... Luckily after vet visit, she recovered. She's fat now(must reduce food) but active. At 7 months, she is 5kg and shoulder to floor is about 6-7inches(15-17 cm), is that normal?

I have a question. When I first got her from petshop, thay told me all pekes will start shedding baby fur at 4-5 months and grow adult coat. How come my hazel at 7 months never shed any fur at all? Still got original fur and growing thicker and thicker hard to comb orr... how?

She usually poo and pee on newspaper in my kitchen but also in garden when I bring her out. But I worry coz in garden she loves to eat plants. I try to make sure there are no poisonous plants around. SHe loves to eat hibiscus flowers, if can't find on ground she will jump to grab from the plant....

wow, hazel is so pretty!!!

i never noticed anything about their fur. they have always been shedding a lot - my house always got their furballs all over the place! nicky (3, male) has nice, smooth fur, so does tutu (2, female). lingling (1, female) has thick, very-difficult-to-comb fur. nicky and tutu are much easier to groom.

i've given up leaving newspaper on the floor for them. everytime i come home from work, the kitchen (they stay there when we are out) is a disaster area with newspaper chewed up! so now, i just let them do and them pick up after them lor. what to do? love them so much!

she can jump to get hibiscus flower, so good jumper, meh? nicky and tutu are also quite good at jumping and running - they will run up and down the stairs very fast. lingling very fat, cannot climb stairs at all, not even one step. if i put her on the step, she will sit there the whole day! she will only jump when there is food!!

That avatar is when she was 11 weeks old. Now I attach some pics how she looks like at 7 months. Yah she can jump to snatch the hibiscus but not high lar, coz the hisbiscus plant is low only.

I also keep her in the kitchen when no one is home and spread newspaper for her. Most of the time she poo and pee there but sometimes she does play and tear up the papers. Also sometimes when she in the living room she lazy to go kitchen to poo so she choose the carpet when we are not looking. And after that she will look suspiscious and hide so we know she did something wrong already hahaha..

I have a cocker spaniel and Cavalier King Charles before but I think I love peke the most as they are so cute.

hazel is a gorgeous princess. very swee leh.

we have given up trying to tell them where to poo & pee, especially nicky, he will squirt here and there. this morning, tutu did a small puddle on my carpet. lucky caught her in time.
