Hi.

Do you have any photos showing Labs(puppy) legs?

You may be right that she is a mixed. She and her sister were abandoned in Bangsar.

No. I dont have a photo .your is not a puppy anymore. Its a full grown dog. please compare your with the one in the picture, you will see they are both the same breed (mixed breed) except that princess is stronger and healthier.

I am sure yours is not a Lab. It is a mixed breed anyway.

I have a Lab, please view photo.

Sorry, now see it..That is Labrador. K ?

You can judge (guess) their age from the Teeth. Face , Body and leg(the nail may tell little about their age as well) This is how I look at the dog's age.

Hi NPK,

I would not totally rule out the possibility that this dog is a black labrador, as the facial features closely resembles with a pure bred black lab.

its coat also seem rather short and densed from the photo, also another characteristic of a pure black lab.

you should also check if she carries an otter tail.

as for the body, it would be better if there is a side view of the dog. though the dog seem small boned compared to black labs we usually see, it could also be due to poor breeding. we would never know.

i disagree with virgil that the dog is the same with princess. aside of both of them being black and being females, i do not see any other resemblence of both dogs. princess's coat is seemingly shorter and different from the puppy's. the clear part that we can see she's a mixed breed is at her head, as she has a seemingly longer muzzle and a different eye expression from the puppy. in this case, the puppy's head and facial features truly looks like a black lab's (to me).

also as you might noticed, i referred your dog as a puppy as i do believe she still will grow. she looks like a 5-8months puppy to me from that pic. as virgil mentioned you can predict the age of the dog's by checking the teeth. perhaps ask the vet to give you a hand on this :)

are u keeping her? if yes then i applaud you for giving this abandoned girl a home. what happened to her sister?

attached some photo of pet black labrador for your viewing (hence they will not be as big boned as show dogs)

Wah, a professional post ! viewing photo posted by npk. and your picture, I would say its difference, Virgil was right saying it was a mixed breed. You were right saying it has the look and feature of a Lab. I said the dog is not a pure bred Lab.leg is very thin and not the shape of a Lab though, nose, ear and hair looks alike a Lab , wonder about the otter tail, if exist, npk should be happy that it is a mixed Lab with other breed. At the least, Lab's blood in it, so not a chap pa lang....

npk dont have to feel sad whether pure or mixed, its a dog but dunt take it so serious about pure or mixed. I like hunter description about the breed, wah, really a dog trainer (professional) must learn from you.

Puppy ? I thought puppy meant for those newly born dog ? Wah, big big size already still a puppy ? How come ?

Samuel also gila .posted picture like that what for, can not see clearly, better keep it. you also keh po, if you want to post picture, do it like Hunter better and more professional. go learn from hunter. I will also learn from him, we learn togather OK ?

Black dog, good, very unique and hard to find all black colour dog. some people dislike black but many prefer all black because the black dog can scare away Hantu .All White dog will invite Hantu.

If what hunter said it is a close to pure breed Black Lab why they abandoned the dog ? what a waste !

Re: [Sherlok] Anyone know if this a Labrador?? [In reply to] Can't Post

u are right, i wouldn't actually say for sure it's a pure black lab though, but maybe a black lab mixed. the photos are just for reference, to show the resemblence of the puppy with the pure black labs. who knows, there might be black lab blood instilled in this pup, or maybe, she is a black lab after all.

dogs of large breeds are generally considered as puppies until 1 1/2 - 2 years old because of slower physical and mental growth compared to small breeds.

anyway, pure or not pure doesn't matter. would still make a good dog with proper attention and a loving home.

Boon, Sherlock and Samuel,

If you guys have something to fight about, please take it somewhere else. I am sure many will appreciate it.

As for the two Labs(or mixed Labs), they are in good hands. They have been abandoned and tied to a lamp post for 3 days in Bangsar(silky coat and no ticks!!!).

We are not fighting, we are here to help you ! you asked question, we answer. when answering question, there bound to be some new questions from the answer, and when someone answer the question, there is another new question, so it go round about and reach you.

Now you know which is pure and which is mixed, got it ?

Now only you tell the dogs was tied up to a lamp post for 3 days ? why dont you mention it earlier so people can quickly go there and help the dogs ? you also one kind ! Allow the dog tied up for three days and you dont quickly go release them ? if I were you, I release them immediately the moement I saw them.

Why mention no ticks ? why ? No body want dog with ticks ?

I may be wrong but read some "hitting" going on between you guys(Boon, Sherlock and Samuel). Sorry, I am not interested in your dispute.

I appreciate comments from members like Hunter and Virgil Ang onmy questions.

When my friend called me informing me that two Labs(or Mixed Labs) were tied to lamp post for three days, I drove over immediately and took them home.

I was trying to answer to the question by Sherlock "If what hunter said it is a close to pure breed Black Lab why they abandoned the dog ? what a waste !"

I was puzzled too...why anyone want to abandon TWO very kept(that is why I mentioned silky coat and no ticks) Labs or Labs mixed????

I do not need to tell you more about what I do to rescue dogs. Check out my ID (npk) at the Rescue section of this Forum.

I think I got the answers to my question whether they are Labs or Mixed Labs. Thanks for replies.

Have a Great Chinese New Year.

Dear Sam,

I know that you are one of those with good intention. I read your post regarding the Beagle(Buddy) that I gave up for adoption. You post meant well and I am sure many, like me, appreciate your effort.

Your post here was also helpful to me...but someone just love to run you down.(not because what you wrote). He/She just wanted to hit you.

We come here for information and exchange of experience and knowledge. However, there will be troublemakers. I dislike the attitude.

Some of them just love to react. Therefore, if we don't act, they can't react. They come to this Forum waiting to run their mouth.

Just my 2 cents.
