No... I went to SMCS.

Well, I've been going to this vet for a long time, when his clinic is in Jalan Ipoh. But not sure whether really good or not. My previous dog, a mongrel, didn't have so much problem then.

Do you know there's another vet at menjalara. near the steamboat restaurants. I've been there once to treat my Guinea Pig. Maybe after Baskin's 4th jab, I'll try him and see.

Hmmmm.... Could have been the same breeder. So..... Baskin and Ben could be brothers.....

Beyond, where did you bought Ben? I bought Baskin from a home breeder in Puchong on 23 Oct.

kelsey, currently I'm feeding him SD puppy original. You mean, I can start feeding him adult food eventhough he is still 3+ months?

Re: [michelleteh] [beyond] SKin problem? [In reply to] Can't Post

michelle, i am not a nutritionist but i have read that it's ok to feed large breed puppies adult food. reason being large breed puppies grow so fast and puppy food contain so much calories & protein and can make ur puppy grow much faster and later got joint problems. the bones cannot handle if the body grow so fast.

though puppy has so much energy, they also cannot be forced to exercise long period of time like an adult dog. Roxy has been on Canidae since she was 10 weeks old. she has grown wonderfully and according to her weight. but different pup may have different needs. maybe u can buy the 3kg Canidae (np: RM40 / RM45) at any petshop. mix this half and half with the S.Diet and see got changes on the skin or not? alternatively try the raw lamb with SD kibbles.

lamb is a good source for pups with allergies, don't give beef. check www.landofpuregold.com for more info, they have lots of useful info about GRs.

decision to feed him adult food is up to you. Canidae food is based on all life stages. but also when u come to think about it, i don't know why got puppy food when dogs in the wild, puppy or adult eat the same thing (raw meat)...Crazy

Ohmigod! What a small world! From the way Mr L advertised it in the Star, it was a REAL bargain... but when I went there on Sat morning, only 1 male and 1 female left. The bargains one all sold out. he was very tricky. We must let the two brothers unite and I'll tell you about it. Not nice, to talk here lah....

Have you gotten your MKA cert yet? I called him few weeks ago, he said he had just submitted them to MKA, so have to wait another 2 months or so. Do you know Mr. L's full name? I need them so that I can check with MKA.

I asked him also about the dandruff and he gave me the same ridiculous answer. That it was his baby skin coming off. Huh.....

Hey.... I've just enrolled Baskin for clicker. Starting this Sunday. It's a small group class, max 4. Are you interested in joining? The small group is already full but I try to ask if she can squeeze in one more.

There is also a big group class (cheaper), but need at least 6 person to start the class. So far she has one lady interested in the big group. If you can get enough ppl, maybe we can join together. But you have to let me know ASAP. cos I'm starting this SUNDAY.

pls go to for more details. Click on our training program.

If you can find another 4 more ppl to join then maybe I can join the big group also. Otherwise I will have to go for the small group which starts this SUN. My dog cannot wait any longer. Very naughty. Have to quickly send him there.

Hi Michelle,

My dog will have her 3rd vaccin. this Saturday, so no problem right?...I prefer to join in bigger group as it's cheaper...the class can start as soon as we have 6 in a group, right? If you can wait a little bit more, I hope we can be in the same group.....I hope Beyond & Kelsey can join in too..

Beyond/Kelsey, are you interested in the training?

You better call the instructor for more infos. I need to know the answer latest by Saturday. Otherwise I have to go ahead to join the small group.

Note: If you have a few members in your family who wish do the training also, then you should join the small group. For the big group, only one person can train and the rest of the family members can only watch.

Now, I'm not so sure lah... I'll be going with my sis (so she can train together and also can control my dog while i drive) and she wants it soonest possible. Not so easy to find 6 ppl lah. I've checked with trainer since a month ago. So far only another lady and me interested in the big group. Everyone opts for the small group. That is why I decided to join small group also, otherwise dont know wait until how long. The older the dog the harder to train already.

You sure you dont want to go for the small group? You, me and beyond can start a new small group. If kelsey wants to join, even better lah. A lot of things can learn from sifu.

hey wendy,

thanks but i think i will skip the clicker training. transportation problem is no 1 and also Roxy is 5 months now and she is doing fine on self training, we may send her to basic class organised by puppycom when she turns 6 months or so to just instil obedience in her.

.

Dear Kelsey, I can't join your gathering today because need to bring Daisy to have her 3rd vaccination....next time ok?

How I hope Daisy is as obedient as Roxy...but I can't blame anybody or Daisy, because I didn't spend much time training her mar....BTW, how do you train Roxy to behave when she is out of the cage, while you do your own chores? Hope you can share your experience.

Thanks a lot.

Hi Michelle, sorry that I can't join you this weekend because it's quite costly and Daisy just have her vaccination today...so better wait for another week. We can meet up some other time, Kelsey suggested a good place in KL...and maybe next time we can be together in other classes (did you notice the website said would have other training in future?)Sly

Re: [WendyS] [beyond]SKin problem? [In reply to] Can't Post

hey wendy,

well roxy is not as obedient as u may think, she is still though a puppySly. but most of the time she is obedient. she cannot "tahan" when we go outside, she gets excited seeing people, cause of her size, some ppl get very scared even though my puppy is so far from them. she is 5 months and growing big now.

as for daisy to behave when she is out of the crate, timing is very important. also u have children, get them to play with the dog, i find kids and dogs can play for hours with supervision and kids loves it when the dog know simple tricks. i have taught roxy the leave it command where i put a treat on her paw and she will leave it till she is told to eat them. and also i have taught her to sit still where i will put a treat on her nose and get her to flick it and catch it with her mouth. both of this tricks, my baby brother who is 5 can play for hours with her and she loves it because of the attention and the food. so i could make dinner or do something like read.

also if ur children is too small to play with the dog, get the dog a kong. its about RM40 and can get from a petshop, get the red color one as it's better for her. the black one is for hard biter. if u don't know what a kong is, go to www.kongcompany.com fill the kong with treats and let her figure out how to get them out, this will keep her entertain for hours too. when i make dinner, i make it a point that roxy has to sit just slightly outside of the kitchen and i will give her a frozen treat kong to occupy her so i cna supervise her. before i go to work, i will also give her the kong filled with frozen treats, for yours, try put 1 - 2 dog biscuit in the kong and let try that first, frozen treat is more for "advanced dogs" lah..when she get the idea treat can come out of the kong, u can be sure u will have a peaceful time reading ur book:)

timing is also important, when u come home from work, u can't expect her to be all good, she will be naughty as she is excited u r home and she wants to play. so i suggest u just play with her then walk her outside for 30 minutes. once she is back home, she will be tired and will just relax where she loves best and u can watch TV peacefully. get ur children to be involved, ask ur kids to play fetch with her, remember she maybe a golden retriever, but without training, she can be a disaster when she is big. and she will grow big, GR are dogs that will require constant training and affection.

good luck!
