Oh... it's arond the SS area.... I dunno how to say lah but I guess you'll have to ask your colleagues.....

Oh the child's toy clicke is actually made of metal and when we press a metal plate, it goes 'clik' like a clicker.. I've heard how a clicker counds like and it sounds just like that..... only that toy was a such a long ago toy so don't think they make it anymore and I have no idea where I put my old one......

well roxy was having a bit of rash at the pee area when she was 10 weeks so i bought this medicine can't remember from the bet, i think it was RM7. but it's good. after a few days, the rash gone. this is because when she pee, cause slippery mah so sometimes she will slip on and her pee place kena her pee area..so funny saying that.

well i don't have a garden cause condo mah. but i normally bring Roxy to walk at grass area. i will always comb her soon as we enter the house. my roxy and till now like beyon'd ben, will take things out of the crate and don't want to go it. sometimes if u put food, she will have her 2 front paw in the remaining of the body outside..so funny. but i gave her a bit of pat on the bottoms and say "go in crate" and she go in lor.

i actually don't feed my puppy any kinds of vitamins or supplements (that is in terms of tablets). i have read it maybe bad to overnourished your puppy in it's growing years but if ur puppy needs it, then do lor. i give Roxy banana for potassium and blended vegetables for additional fibre. i give canidae with chicken stock (boiled chicken bones / feet with just 1 piece of garlic, & 1 teaspoon of sunflower omega oil). garlic is suppose to avoid rheumatism in later life and also flea. there is recipe for flea hater dog biscuit but i haven't tried it. it has wheat and roxy is allergic to it so i may modify it a bit.

you can try other food just hope she won't be too manja lor.Smile

Re: [beyond] [beyond] SKin problem? [In reply to] Can't Post

it's normal for puppy to be stubborn on the leash. you got a "mule puppy"Smile

what bump? is it like big and can see from far? can't really tell if it's normal or not since can't see it. don't tug on the leash, u will teach him to pull later. if he dont want to go, then take a treat and try luring him. put a treat in front of his face and let him follow the smell, when he does praise him. if u tug too hard, you may damage your puppy's neck in the long run.

when he is 4 months, maybe u can introduce choke chain, but u have to use properly cause if not as the name suggest it can choke your puppy.

he has not seen the joy of going outside and walk..take time, he will still chew the end of the leash for a while..so have to discipline lah. roxy at 14 weeks still does this, when i open the door, she stopped and just sit till i give command "let's go" then she will go out of the door.

Re: [beyond] SKin problem? [In reply to] Can't Post

beyond, this will take time.

practise, practise, practise is the key and no compromise.when u prepare his food in the kitchen, he will sure be at ur leg one and trying to jump, ignore him or command "down" - push him down gently. praise him. if u see him about to jump on u, give him the eye..haha always works with Roxy.Laugh

ok now u ready want to put the food on the floor, ask him to sit first, when the bowl almost touching the floor and he breaks his sit, pick the bowl up again and ask him to sit. after the third time, still like this (u don't want to torture him too long lah). while he is sitting, put the bowl down and the other hand hold his chest and repeat your sit command. then say ok and let go ur hand, he will run to the food bowl.

actually there is a command missing here which is stay. your doggie can only perfect this practise if he knows his sit, stay and leave it command perfectly. practise all this command with him first, use treats..once he master all this the eat on command will be much easier. progress rate for Roxy: we practise eat on command when she was 11 weeks, she perfected it when she is 14 weeks..so that maybe ur guideline lah..

good luck

Hi how is everyone, I had been on leave for the past few days, so didn't log into the forum....Beyond, I read in another post that you might get dengue, I hope you'll be fine....Do tell us if you're ok.....

Beyond, Kelsey is right. Try to make Ben sit before giving him food, very soon he will learn to sit when he wants to have something from you....now whenever Daisy sees me, although she is very excited (trying to jump up), but when I stop, she knows that she needs to sit down first before I will give her the food/toys/let her out.

My vet at Sri Petaling charged only RM50 for 9-in-1 vaccin, so it's more reasonable lor...Daisy was very well-behaved when I brought her to the vet, I let her walked on leash, the vet said she is very 'guai' oh....Sly But actually she still needs a lot of training, she would do anything if I let her roams free....so susah lar....Unsure

Now Daisy is with me at the new house, I bought a 3ftx3ft cage for her when we can't 'supervise' her...I let her out when makan time, then she will run like crazy at the car porch & garden, trying to pick the plants, slippers and anything that she can get...after she pee pee/poo poo, then I will put her back in cage...but she was very naughty this morning, she didn't poo poo after eating, when I put her in the cage, she poo poo thereMad...I have to clean the cage before going to work...so tension lar....

Hi Hi...DEngue session over liao...Was sick at home for 1 week...Then was admitted for 4 days into the hospital..Was warded for drips..Coz the platelets level was fallin too fast.

Hahahah...Ben is getting good at waiting for his dinner nowadays..He will wait till I say ok, then only he will touch his food..Of couse..He is tempted to have a go at it..BUt I always remind him by saying 'no' and 'stay'.

RM50 for 9-in-1? That is cheap..Oh yeah...BEn is doin well on leash now..Very responsive..Havent start trainin on the command 'heel' yet..COz he will follow wherever I go..But naturally as a dog..He luvs to smell the ground..I lagi tension..Lately..He pee here and there..

Hi Beyond,

Finally you're backSly...I was thinking you must be 'kena' already coz missing for so longUnsure....Who was looking after Ben when you're hospitalised?

Good to hear that Ben is responsive to training already, I guess 'boy' matures slower lor....hehe....

Currently we don't let Daisy goes in to the house, although I would like to let her stay with us in the house, it's difficult to train her to live 'peacefully' with us together (especially she is young & active now), furthermore I have children at home...imagine if I have to clean her mess in the house too...fikir pun pengsan lar....

Since we've shifted, Daisy has got her favorite spot to pee & poo already, ie. on the sand... but yesterday my mom tied her near the car porch for her to do her business (coz my mom waited for 1/2 hour already but no 'result'), then she poo poo there....when I brought her out this morning she didn't poo poo on the sand anymore, she went to the car porch instead....so strange lar, why she recognised the latest spot instead of the usual place????

My garden doesn't have grass yet, just sand and some potted plants...Daisy will sure pick on my plant leaves/small stones as she walks pass them....any idea to teach her to leave them alone??Tongue

Hi Beyond

I've come to know, from one of the posts, that you are from Kepong Baru. I'm from that area as well. I think we might be visiting the same vet because my vet prescribe the same solution for my Baskin with dandruff problem.

3 ml (full syringe) Nutricoat twice a day

Selederma syampoo scrub with 'abalone scrub' (pao yee chat) and leave on for 15-20 mins then rinse

Small black bottle of poison (written down as tickwash) and scrub again, no rinse. However mine is written down as 1 1/2 caps instead of 2 1/2 caps with 2 litres water. Which one is correct? They said that if the solution is too thick, it will be poisonous to both dogs and humans. If to diluted, it wont have enough strength to solve the problem.

BTW, does it work for Ben? Just started using 2 or 3 times only. So far, didn't see any improvement yet. Thought of changing dog food and see whether it helps.

Mic

In Reply To
OK..Where was I this morning...Oh yeah..
I was given

1. Some vitamin tonic for coat and skin- Claims (printed) to help removes flakes and promote healthy coat (India's production) Feed him 3 ml twice a day..VITA A---GOOD!Wink

2. Selemide (Wonder if this is the coorect spelling) shampoo and scrub. I m suppose to wet him and lather him well and scrub him down ( the scrub that we are talkin about is the floor scrub- What will happen to his coat lar..Unsure) and leave the med on for about 20 minutes before I hose him down..

3. A bottle of poison..I failed to get clear of what this item is...(for ticks?) Which I have to take 2 and 1/2 caps full and mix it with exact 2 litres of water..Then I ll have to apply to all over his coat..Then ...I ll have to leave it dry for 15 mins..Then? No washing or what so ever? ( I got to call the vet again for clarification) Poison wor..What if Ben licks it ?

I think the petsmore.com shop you came across is the same as the one at Ikano. I took one of their business cards and was printed down the address of another shop at Jalan Sultan.

I guess their puppies of from the same source.

Small bottel of poison? What's that?

I realise after bathing in sulphur shampoo, skin is less flaky and dry....

Lucky for you that Ben's flakes is lesser. Yup... I own a GR and his name is Baskin (3+ months). I have to comb him everyday to get rid of them. But it only helps in making my floor less flakes not the dog!

Since you are from Kepong also, maybe we can meet up one day for our dogs to socialise. But I have to send my Baskin for training first because he is very naughty. Never listens!

You can try Troy.... I just bought another brand... can't remember what coz at my aunt's place... I'll tell you tomorrow ok? The shampoo is yellow in colour.

Change his food to chicken or lamb coz beef makes allergy reaction and can cause skin problems....

Kepong Baru also. Near the secondary school.

Don't know what exactly is red spot. But I think Baskin has one on the head too, the size of ten cent coin. The other day, it bled a little due to scratching. The vet said it's the beginning of mange. I'm using Vetzyme brand: Veterinary Skin Cream to treat it. It looks a bit better now. But the bump is still there which causes a bald spot.

Re: [beyond] [michelleteh] SKin problem? [In reply to] Can't Post

look on the web and search for "hot spots picture". what both of you describe sounds like hot spots. try looking at the pic and compare if the bump/red patch is actually hot spot.

i wonder why both of your dogs have eye/skin problem? came from the same breeder?

michelle - are u feeding SD lamb & rice? the formula is ok but SD also contain corn which ur doggie may be allergic too. if u still have lots of the SD and don't want to waste, try buying lamb and mince it and mix it with his kibbles, raw lamb. then u slowly change to Canidae. right now, Canidae don't have lamb anymore as M'sia banned Us lamb, don't know why lah.

just a pointer, my puppy eat Canidae which i mix with blended vegetables & garlic, chicken stock and tiny bits of chicken. sometimes we do buy Canidae canned food and put just 1 tsp in the kibbles just to coat the kibbles. results, coat is very nice to touch, shiny, no flakes, no fleas/ticks. you also have to be "rajin" lah never give ur pup bread ok as this will aggreviate the skin problems.
