People who pledged to volunteer are those who have either gone to PAWS or going to.. let's not make it a situation where people feel there is a certain regulation to be a volunteer there such as you must be there at certain time. This way, they will feel that there have no freedom of volunteering at any other times.

People who volunteers there have to do it from their heart and sincerely not by trying to prove to anyone that they have pledge and must do it ....

Btw, are you a volunteer at PAWS as well? Sincerely, I feel the way you posted will only invite unpleasant remarks. We all do not know if each other had volunteered there before because not everyone goes there on weekend. Note that, not all people work on weekdays only, some do on weekends and only be able to visit PAWS on Weekdays.

You are missing the spirit of this poll. Challenging people to show up, will not be a change driver. Perhaps if you put an activity plan for the day(something apart from talking to cats and dogs, bathing dogs) for Sunday and state exactly what needs to be done, people from this forum might actually show up to help. And as for youself, there is a pot of gloss paint donated and some cement too. Will certainly be good if you can spend Sunday painting the new puppy pen and repairing the dog kennels (big holes in the cement floor). Or if you can, prepare a schedule identifying dogs that needs to be washed and ensure that every animal is covered. From what I see, it is normally the same 50-60 dogs that gets a bath from volunteers. This will help people like me, who do go in on weekdays.

Thanks for giving me this link, I know you mean good and would like to share this opportunity with me to do something good for the poor animals. I am a lover to all living things but I would not like to get involve when there's issues like that.
Well, when I was reading the 1st page, I was keen to make my pledge since PAWS is actually not that far from my place but after reading through everything, sorry to say even though I am an animal lover, this is getting too complicated and scary.
I will continue my contribution on whatever I can to the less complicated shelter.

It's too crappy when all I want is just to help the poor dogs.

By the way, I agree with musashi and also this is a volunteer work, people should do with their own will, not by threatening or dares whosoever. Silly Billy...

I still have old forms that are tatty by usable. If you drop me a line, I will send them out to you.

Please note that you must get a receipt. And I have copies of the constitution (which clearly indicates where the delta is - what they are suppose to be doing under the constitution but have not). I can send copies of that to anyone interested too.

PAWS have a junior membership programme ... but I think you will need to find your own transport, maybe your parents can give you a ride to and from PAWS ... or you can get together with a few friends and go together.

Good to hear that you are keen to volunteer. You can always go into with some friends and pick up some projects to do. A few weeks ago, some students came in and did a great tidy up.

And you might want to help walk the dogs. It is terrible being caged up all day long. I am sure that they will appreciate the fuss.

As for memberships, yes there is a junior membership at RM10 a year. You do not need to be a member to volunteer your time though. Just be there for the animals, cuddle the puppies, help with the kittens...
