actually... they're considered cheap ?
in most countries... dogs there are much cheaper... same goes to car... kinda big difference no ?

like in australia... you can get a pure breed for rm 300 plus...
i've seen champion breed selling for rm 500 too ...
but over here ussually its rm 1000 over...

seen some good blood line selling for rm 8000 too Crazy
i think thats too much ?

I cant really say that is existing in Australia. Also the definition of champion is very misleading sometimes....champion in what? and what show? local, regional....etc. While shows are not really my forte I will rather leave that on itself. Nevertheless I think humans subscribe by the words "beauty in the eye of the beholder" and "transaction is made of willing buyer n willing seller" and "cheap but still super dog is an illusion"

It takes long time n dedication to breed a good dog. In working dogs it must has the nerve, courage, temprements and drives to work endlessly with the handler. If these dogs can be produced like a factory mould then there is no need for tests like SchH and our Police force dont have to search for them all over the world like they do now. All is a matter of u pay for what u get.

Also champion lines not necessary produce champion dogs as well. So cheap ones are possibilities of champ sire but poor puppies which a breeder is trying to get rid of fast.Smile Fruit for thought.

In US under AKC, it is classified under Herding Group

http://www.akc.org/...ecbreeds/herding.cfm

In UK under The Kennel Club, it is classified under the Pastoral Group

http://www.the-kennel-club.org.uk/...al/pastoralIndex.htm

In Malaysia, it is also classified under the Pastoral Group as per Kennel Club classifications.

oh i agree with "champion lines not necessary produce champion dogs as well"

but sadly that is how many people price a pup they want to sell
they give reasons of its parents being champion in shows and all..

but i hear u Smile it certainly is not easy to breed a good dog

True....very true....even petshop uses these terms rather losely. One thing you can do to check out how true the breeder is is to ask him to tell u the history of the last 5 generation dogs behind the puppy one by one. Then u will know how dedicated he is in his breeding.Laugh This is fool proof test.

Sadly, many people still got fooled easily with a single term "champion line"

Re: [lovedoggies] dad's gsd wish [In reply to] Can't Post

ermmmm, Not just show certs lah LaughSlyWink What I mean is that the breeder is able to tell you each and every ancestor of the puppy what they have gone through and what are their positive points and achievements. Then they can also tell you why they made this specific breeding guiding by their structure, temprements which they can easily show u with the parents. By 5 generations pedigree it means the parents (2) the G'parents(4) the GG'parents(8) then GGG'parents(16) the GGGG'parents(32) so in total its 62 individual dogs Smile

The point is, these people has to understand what they are doing in the first place and not just put 2 dogs together and say their prayers.Tongue

Re: [ronaldo7] dad's gsd wish [In reply to] Can't Post

Glad to know that yr dad is a gsd fan. So am I ! If you dont mind the little travel there is a reputable breeder from Klang. Just went to his place this afternoon to collect the papers for my Rottweiler(we got the Rottie to accompany our gsd pup of the same age) and noticed that he has just got a 15 month old gsd from Germany and boy was he majestic looking! Anyway, didnt see any pups around. Perhaps you can contact the breeder at 012-2380059 (Mr Lim) to enquire if there are available gsd pups for sale. Mr Lim is more conversant in Mandarin/Hokkien than English.

Not too sure on the price of his gsd pups.
