Me and Rufus	Can't Post

Hi All,

I have a 4 months old puppy, Rufus. (Can anyone see his pic, not sure if it is successfully attached to my profile). Crazy

He is a Maltese who no longer looks like this, cause I have to shave him bald. (Looks like Chihuahua now) Why? He got bacteria infection, skin has red spots and scratching like mad. And I have agreed with the vet to shave him so that I can treat him right to the point. Hope he would heal fast -cause I just burnt 200RM - that is before i red about previous postings on this-and saw Mr. Derric can rectify it under RM10. Crazy

. Oh well. Amazingly, i have no problem feeding him medicine, cause he is such a "rubbish bin"

Rufus does not like the Down command...he is very egoistic.

he looks really cute,pity the little who encounter such problem at only 4 mths.When i adopted my deedee she had the same skin problem.I only cut her hair really short not totally bald.It took about 3 wks to recovered on regular vet visits.Which vet do you go to?I hope your lil Rufus will get better soon.

Barry, I think your puppy has Maltese blood too, because of the eyes. Wink

I read your post that it has Shih Tzu blood, right? I am really proud that you made that choice...the last time I went to PAWS was giving them little stray kittens.

Three weeks sounds alright..i hope..i am spending like 1 hour before and after work just to ensure his ears r clean, paws are nicely filed (i dun do that to myself even) and ensure my mum feed him the right dosage.

Phoenix...you terrier's ears standing or floppy..i was wondering whether is it normal for a silky terrier to have floppy ears (my dear friend has one...very anti-social to all dogs and kids though..but very manja to us)

Mister Stan's i guess is a Beagle?.I always wondered how big a beagle would grow up to be...medium size?

Barry, after the deedee's visit to the vet...when was the next?

Forgot to say that I went the the vet along the new old klang road highway...next to Esso station, nearer toward Fed Highway.

Actually, our fav vet , Dr. Mukundan, was in PJ( 9o'clock at the first roundabout after Old klang road)...looks run down ...but very good with all my cats and dog (it was a Spitz)...and price never went up to 50 RM. hmm...maybe inflation.

About Deedee's eating habits...well i tried on Woofie (my friend's terrier)...i microwave those soft food (ceasar) with lid on for like 1 min...almost explode...but really smells nice. ensure deedee is there to smell. Then cool it to room temperature. when cool...feed her bit by bit if she does not eat from the plate/bowl.

We have tried for 3 years now to find what woofie likes...and after a few months...her taste changes.

Sad to hear that Rufus was shaved. I own a 6 months old lab and he has experienced that before !! that was when he was 4 months...he was shaved by the vet at many places....though not all over the body, and then, we had to apply cream for him everyday. Took about 2 weeks to recover and about 1 month for him to recover his handsome looks !! Tongue

He had bacteria infection too.....

By the way, may i know where is PAWS located ??

Rufus looks cute.... so sad that you had to shave his fur..... it happened to my cat, it had fungus and the vet shaved my cat bald!!!!

I also have 4 dogs, one of them is a shih tzu...... a senior dog hahaha... the rest are big dogs and they treat my shih tzu like their leader... have to obey him, if not, my Willy boy will bite their ears hahahah.....

My dog are treated by the same Vet u've mentiond,we pay him a visit every year,this shall be the 9th years.

Just wondering why u need to use microwave for the ceasar dog food, it really smells good if just open without warm up. It used to be Taro's favorite food, but now he don't seems like it so much,may be grown up oredi & taste changed. Crazy

If u really wants to warm up the dog food,I think 10 ~20 seconds is more than enough !

looking at her crate reminds me of the crate my teddy used to live in 5 years ago...full of soft toys and hides. The best thing is he goes into the cage himself when he wants to play or sleep, now he hates cages and roam freely in my house

Yes the picture in the avatar is a nice little doggie. Is good to shave the hair off because skin problem is hard to heal with all the hair. No worries I am sure your RM 200 is well spend and worth it.

For your information silky will not have floppy ear. If they have floppy ear then something is not right. All silky's ear must stand straight up.

MisterStan...i dunno the road name..so I will try to describe. It is very near a chinese temple Sau Seng Lum. From Old Klang road, u'll meet the 1st roundabout. take immediate left and left again. Then right. Once you turn right you will see it on your right. Dun look very much like modern clinics though. I have not been there for like 10 years

do you still own both cats and dogs? It is amazing how they respect each other's space and they don't hurt each other.

haha...Willly has proof to all that size does not matter, as long as you have the will to show who is the leader. I can imagine howw funny it would be when Willy command all the big ones to go fetch its toys or something ...wow!

What you did to Teddy pic is very beautiful, makes him majestic looking.

Rufus still likes his crate(keeping my fingers cross). I try to be very careful not to send him to his crate if he did something wrong, and never scold him when he is in there. So he thinks that is his sanctuary...nobody can touch him there.

Do you think maybe Teddy had a nasty experience in his crate? Maybe can play with Teddy in there till he has sweet memories within his crate. Then soon teddy may make his crate his fav place again Smile

The next visit after her first vet visited was 5 days later cause during that period her skin condition was really bad.I bring her to the vet,their charges was reasonable too.
The problem diet is she's allergy to certain kind of protein such as chicken breast & all meat can food but now i'm feeding her science diet with only 19% of protein.The doctor said usually dog with skin problem should stick to low protein diet.

Barry..thanks much. Brilliant info.

I will keep track on his protein intake. He has been taking Science Diet too. first was Puppy Original then I switched to Lamb & Rice. however, I kind spoiled him with treats..those milk biscuits and some meat base ones.

That's nice, so that he have a place of his own..Teddy used to be like that tto. he'll carry his hides and food into the crate..guess he feel protected inside there..untill my dad crate him inside after bathing..he hates it..since then he rarely walk into it d...

we have folded it and kept ir outside d...now his house is my bedroom n my bed is his & my lab's bed too..pengsan Unsure

imagine teddy on the left me in middle n tyrus on the right Frown

have to change bedsheet & vacumm every week or else there'll be lots of fur

How is his skin condition now? Has it improved? Huh looks like chihuahua ah...I got one at home and just 4 mths old, playful but doesn't like to stay in crate may be I've been keeping him in the crate for long hours, so he doesn't like to be in there. Crazy

tqtq. Ah...so the one in the pic is a Chihuahua? I was wondering what it was cause its really really cute (normally I only see skinny chihuahuas). And it sure looks very playful..bet it graps its toys and swings them around Tongue

. PP got use to having a bigger crate-your house...heheh...so does not like the tiny crate anymore. Small dogs like to think and feel big

Rufus' dried out blood is peeling off (like chicken pox). So i guess its getting better...realised I spent almost 1 hour searching through every mm of his skin.

yupyup...he looks like chihuahua now with floppy ears (but bigger than one i think).

Yeah,Taro was treated by the Burmess doctor ? After so many years I still don't know his name,his accent sounds like Burmess or Vitnamess ?

Hahaha... yes, I do keep a cat but then, only my shih tzu is ok with him... you see, my cat is actually a rescued cat, someone abandon him outside my home so I took him in before I got the boxers and the lab..... My shih tzu tolerates him, my cat, Simba loves to bully him heheheh.... so funny to see a cat bully a dog..... My cat has a weird phobis... he hates outdoors!!!! Dunno why but he just want to stay inside so he's safe from my big dogs..... my bid dogs are cat killers Unsure

I sometimes think Willy is part human, he can undertsnad many many english and cantonese words and acts almost like a little child... but yes, it's funny to see him boss around the big dogs.....

the lady vet is ok. Quite hard to judge. She didn't really talk much to us. For me I think a good vet should take much interest on the history of the dog...but I feel that she was very rush. Nonetheless, well she did manage to solve it...therefore alright.

Oh my, poor cat. Better give it alot to explore...you know how curious cats can be.

hehe...what I do see make them bow to each other a few times....seems to do the trick...a form of respect i guess.

But its good that the cat does not go out ...cause most of my cats got roadkilled Frown

Actually, Rufus is my first animal purchase...all others were given and some cats were like yours.

Hm. I dun recall a tenaga/telekom there though.

Rufus...Seems getting better...but sometimes still scratch. Ever since being naked...it seems more naughty and playfull...dun even let me clean his ears or clip his nails. Frown

My cat, he is one weird kitty.... not your typical cat at all..... only likes cat food, will only pee and poo in a litter box and he's afraid of outdoors.... I think maybe his previous owner could have given him a bad exprerience outdoors..... My vet told me that he was probably 9 months when I 1st found him and now I think he could be close to 5 years old......

Hehehe.... I've seen a few times my boxer actually make way for my shih tzu, they'll get out of his way as quick as they can to let him walk hahahaha......

Oh, so Rufus is one precious baby.... Well, most of my animals are either bred by me or found by me or bought..... they all get buried in my backyard.....

oh, yes. cats needs soft earth to pee and poo. its their nature. hence if your cat has no chance to go out doors...gotta spend loads on cat litter. Chelsea held on for two days and i quickly rush to get cat litter...whoah..instantly do business.

wow..I didn't know dogs do have rank and respect system like what your team is displaying...really interesting. Maybe yr shih tzu bit them before to show who is boss.

Yes, I know heheheheh...... I spend so much on cat litter.... my mom keeps complaining about the bill hahahahah.....

My shih tzu is the oldest so the oldest dog normally ghets a top rank behind the owners..... that's why my other dogs respect him... but if the age of each dog is too close, the dogs will fight till one becomes the leader.... sometimes very horrible to see coz there might be blood and open wounds....

Yeah, I read it in a dog guide book... actually, if you do get the chance, you should get this book, has all everything inside it, form puppyhoo to seniorhood.... So far, they don't sell it anymore at mph... When my dogs were pups, I don't beat them, I take newspaper and beat myself hahaha... make the loud noise and show angry face... then now ah, when they see me hold the newspaper, ready to beat my thigh, they will stop what they are doing and make sad face heheheh.....

If you bark at him ah, he will think you are playing with him... when he bites you, say "ouch" loudly and make crying sounds.... sort of like scream when you hurt yourself lah, then ah, make a fuss about the bite and ignore him.... It works for me lah.....

Hehehe... small dogs are chili padis... see lah, my shih tzu still one chili padi... knows when to be notti and when to show his merajuk face... When he merajuk ah, he will hide under my bed and won't come out....

Rufus use to be ok when I clip his nails/clean his ears. But after one vet visit...he growls at me when I try to do that. He disliked being forced. Now I have to play with him a lot, soothe him a lot before cleaning once...so much time to clip one nail ar.

Because he feels so much lighter and he sees that he looks like a little rug rat so i think therefore make him act like one Crazy

...thinks he is very rugged

I did buy one book just for Maltese...Only remember 10% of what i read and I have to read it over and over again. And yes, one thing I remembered is never whack or scold your maltese or they will shun away from you. aiyo why they din say that about raising kids leh Tongue

Oh, the breed books normally give a lot of details.... I find a bit troublesome and not very user friendly..... this book is so far the best dog guide I have.... I have 3 dog guide books at home....

I also help to increase few books into my shelf in my room...I bought quite some books on care, training and specially title on chihuahua. I found that chinese book has more in depth explanation provided you are chinese literate loh... english one also not bad but sometimes have to look into dictionary for some meaning... Blush

welcome to the forum, i am also new here, and i also have a maltese as well her name is Gina..... she recently had the same problem and my vet gave her CEFADROXIL, it helped her heal quickly, no side effects.... but u may still want to check it with the vet.

Hope Rufus gets well soon.

yeah! you have a maltese too? How old is Gina? Rufus is about 4 1/2 months now. small dog with big appetite...getting interested in girls already.

Do you have a pic of Gina? Would love to see her :)

Rufus has healed, but i dun think its completely. I really can't wait for his fur to grow back. So that he would act more gentlemanly.

I heard that a bit of sunbathing everyday will help prevent these sort of skin problem. Which is quite true, same applies to human as well.

Gina just turn 1 on Aug. 27, they are so adorable and playfull, i dont know what i would do with out her.. i am actually trying to attach a picture of her, im hoping it will be on my profile soon. I know what u mean about the appetite, :)

Ginas hair is short too now, it was getting too hot here in CA.

dont worry Rufus will start acting like a gentleman very soon.

when i first brought gina home, her nose was pinkish, brown. and the vet told me to keep her in the sun and it will turn black....now she has a cute black button nose.

How long do you think they take to grow back their fur? Now Rufus is like short haired dog...so how long more?

Rufus' nose was black when I got him, but his paws are still half pink. hmm...must teach him how to suntan laying on his back, paws up.. Smile

How big (lenght & height) is Gina and how heavy is she? Am trying to picture how big would Rufus get.

ummm.... gina weighs 6lbs.and she 50 cm. (from her head to her tail) my cousin has a maltese as well and Gina is much smaller in size than her dog.

it took about a month for her hair to come back, its not as long as it use to be, ( it was almost down to the floor and silky), her skin does not show anymore, lets just say, if i dont comb it everyday it could tangle.

some people tag some maltese as maltese (mini). Do you know if there are two diff kinds? I have read some sites and books and none said of such a thing. But what i read is that they use to be so small you can put it up your sleeves. Crazy

heheh...that is a good sign...the length you describe about Gina's hair shows that in 1 months time Rufus will get back the puppy length. I think being a male, I won't keep his fur long (look like girl) But it would be really lovely to see their long silky coat. my family members duwan me to do Top Knot on him Crazy

can u see the pic of Gina....thats when she was about 3 months old.

The only other maltese i know of is a tea cup maltese, and they are really small.....the biggest they ever grow is the size of Rufus when he was about 3 months old. Other than that im not really sure....

ya loh...i also feel like i bought too many book liao... I have that bad habit where i like to buy books but sometimes just no time to finish reading all. I have read majority but not completely as some infor might be too early at pp stage.

Searched the bookstores here. Saw The Ultimate Guide to Dogs but not the same publisher (i think its RingPress) something like tat and was like over a 100 RM.

Yup, recovering already. This weekend go for checkup. But he still scratch, so i just wash with salt water at the area where he scratches and apply medicine...just in case.

hehehe..i hope he remains that size. He is suppose to be around 10 inc tall and about 14 inches length. Suppose to be mini maltese mah. Too big, cannot fit my house already. Like my previous Spitz , he has to stay out doors and he is only a medium size dog...poor thing.

Now Rufus so lucky. can even sleep with my mum and go on the couch...even fit in between my coffee table and sleep there.

how old is your dog? my Fluffy also likes to bite. but really have to teach her. i think now she seldom do that already. i also sometimes pok kai when she bite my leg. sometimes i even accidentally step her feet. Blush

haha....wah imagine heels knocks his head. sure very pain. it's better to teach him. i always have problems when help Fluffy do grooming. she will bite my hand and doesn't let me to groom.

the head not really that bald lar... she looks more neat and cleaner. now the fur started to grow again. need to groom. i bought the dog clipper and i really scare that i will groom until don't know like what. hahaha.... hmm.....really hope that it's going to be nice. Unsure

it is the photographics trick lah...the rope not bigger than him loh but he just likes it very much, don't know why and sometimes he even bite the string out and eat..hhmm Crazy

He is eating like normal for this two days, hope he is ok loh... I brought him walk walk yesterday...I scared he is too kia si until don't want to move during training, guess what he is very happy and walk walk here and there. At least now he is quite good compare to the first walkie loh...he even runs fast fast... When my neighbour's cat saw pp outside, I can feel the cat is wondering what is this smally little thingy...The cat kept staring at pp but pp just pretend didn't see him loh... Cool

oh, yeah...i have the same problem with Rufus when I groom him. bite lah, growl lah, whine and even climb over my shoulder....as such, i do not have problem doing his back side.

He is still scratching and biting his leg at times, but everytime i try to stop him and he does so. Now, short hair loh. The pic was taken quite recently.

yeap...already enrol pp for puppy class. Some ppl asked me why want to send pp for class, he is so small size, can control him what.... actually I have different thinking loh...I know is easy to control him(small size mah) but I just want him to learn to behave and of course more socialable. One of CHH's character is alert and sometime show nervious of the new environment and ppl, I just wish pp can adapt to new environment more easily. The only way is to let him mix will other dogs loh. PP is good with ppl but not dogs, may be self protect guah...

Are you going for the training? Hope to see you and Rufus there leh...If you didn't join the training, you can still come, bring rufus along lah...

I opt for 5-6 one loh, at least still can play play on field after class mah...pp also like to treasure hunt one, he will just put whatever into his mouth, don't say leaves, he even take paper, clips, rubberbend... bring him lah, he can play with pp...

I also din know there is mini and non mini..I thought all suppose to be mini. But the pet shop say mind suppose to be not longer than 14 inches. Dunno ler. British std is no taller than 10inches...i am too confused already Crazy

No need copnfues lah, as long Rufus is your baby, he will alwasy be like that, a small cute furry baby.....

Ahahah... my Willy also like cloth wor, he likes to bite na dchew before he sleep with it..... so funny wan coz he will chase the cloth tilll he tired and sleep on it.....

Oh, Willy sometimes want to do that during car rides but he will mostly sit on the passenger's seat, sleeping...... and if leave hi inside ah, he will guard it wan...

Oh, I half cook for him.... I give him boiled prok meat and chicken meat... then canned dog food mix with rice.... he ah, very very choosy wan, will smell his food, if smell bad or not nice taste ah he won't eat it...... so very opposite from your Rufus.....

I think Maltese got a few sizes one. History said that they were compared to squirrels...either squirrels then were so huge or that maltese were really small. And those tai tai will hide them under their sleeves. I saw bigger maltese before, so i think they put mini to reassure ler. I think it was the vet in singapore that put Rufus as Maltese (mini) one. He is imported from Singapore. But true ler, nonetheless he would be my furry baby bro.

Wah, you go great lengths to prepare Willy's food huh. At least you know Willy is tasting its food and loving it or disliking it. Got orders of Italian, Japanese, Thai...etc ?

haha...maybe it's very comfortable to do his back side. my dog likes when we touch and rub her stomach.

is it the skin problem that always make him scrathe and bite his leg. well, it's very hard to control them from scratching and biting. even we as human also when itchy sure will scracth although not allow to. Tongue

i think u have to wait a few months to have his fur back like a nice coat.

that is my part time work mah... I brought pp to bf hse every saturday and he stays in oug. Cool

He already got used to travel in car liao lu, in fact every time when I bring out the collar and the carrier, he will automatically walk into the carrier himself and sit there quietly waiting me to close the door... Smile

bcoz of the work loh, that's why I can't go for trekking. Frown

persuade him to join lah, my bf is going with me...ask him to go lah...where got hot, it starts at 4pm for launching and class starts at 5pm. Coma lah, got games some more...hehehe pp can not join the games, too small. Blush

True, they have a few sizes but it all depends on what nature wants them to be.... got a member here, can't remember who but she got a maltese ah, so small, around 4 kg only..... My Willy is about 6 or 7kg, the standard weight of a shih tzu..... Shih tzus, maltese, pekingese and lhasa apso were once the tai tai dogs like you sadi.... but I think like the sleeve would be heavy loh coz I carry my Willy also feels like carrying a sack of rice hahahahaha.....

Wah, Rufus imported dog ah..... Is he of show parentage? My Willy ah, I think one of his grandparents were Singapore dogs and a few Taiwan dogs.... but I don't care, he is such a cute baby, I chose him form all his siblings coz he was the only puppy that didn't bite me and he chose me by peeing fitr in front of my feet hehehehe... Now my Willy is 10 years old, an old man hahhahaha....

Oh, Willy loves chinese style, he loves watercress soup and vege, stirfried broccoli, boiled pork in soup, steam chicken and sshhhhh.... bak kut teh..... I just give him little pieces as a treat but rarely.... but this notti boy loves his food so much..... err... only his fav food, if Pedigree or Science Dite or Ekanuba, he won't touch or smell it ah..... Oh, Willy also likes Ikan bilis sambal.... very weird..... and on Christmas, he gets to eat turkey breast!

4kg ar? Pounds is it? I search info they say around 2.8KG leh...around 6 lbs. ...for Maltese lah. Shih Tzu , not sure...but I think suppose to be slightly bigger. If Rufus too heavy, aiyo..cannot carry him when I come home everyday ar. ...later backache. My cousin's Shih Tzu, Hazel..also very heavy...cannot carry like baby already. hehe..not as strong as you ar.

My cousin's shih tzu has Hazel coloured patches and white patches...that's why call her Hazel. I think almost 2 yrs old already. but then cannot have her pregnant ler, cause no one to take care...cause cousin got married and leaving in another house. Crazy

yea. last time my ECS also like that. when one year old... wah don't even want to bother about me. call her also don't want to 'choy' me. now i just play with fluffy as crazy as possible if not in future no chance to play. she might be don't want to 'choy' me too. Unsure

i brought her to a groomer. rmb i told you tat i wanted to get the dog clipper. well, i bought it and my mom tried to negotiate with the shop person see whether can teach us to groom or not cos we buy the dog clipper. then we brought fluffy there lor.... they help us to groom her and i stand there to learn. see is easy but when touch the clipper is like scare lor cos first time. hehe... Unimpressed

hehe... nevermind ler. she is the only dog in the house. if not me play with then who will. except for my brother ler... always dance with her. Sly

it's nice to send her for grooming. let her experience it. hehe... i think now no need to send already. i will groom everything by myself. wah today i only pluck her ear's hair took me more than 30 minutes. she didn't stay quietly and let me pluck. move everywhere so naughty. it's not because of the pain but it's tickle when i pluck. Unimpressed

the clipper i bought is around RM250 from the pet family in Tmn Megah.

it's unnecessary to get a clipper to groom shih tzu. budget budget. last time i saw a guy groom shih tzu at PW. wah damn expert. first time of cos will look like kinda weird. later when the fur grow longer and it will be nice.

Good lah, you let her experience..... my dad ah don't let loh, say expensive coz the nearest place near my house ah, charge RM110 for a shih tzu ah.... Willy won't let me pluck his ear hair... funny, coz his ears ah, like not dirty at all.... dunno why? Tammy never lick him also his ears really clean wan...... And I never clean them.... vet also thought I very rajin clean them hahahahahaha......

RM250! A bit expensive rite? Anyway, I also dunno if the PW clipper is good or not but they sell one set lah.....

At 1st, I thought of getting clipper coz I want to make him look fuzzy, like a MS mix shih tzu style but then ah, not necessary like you said lah..... Now ok with the cutting, he looks much nicer than I 1st cut his fur many years ago hahahahaha......

yeah.. my bro always like to disturb her using his dancing technique. he often goes to clubbing mah so sometimes practise in front of her then fluffy also follow him to dance lor. hehehe....

actually if i need to pay for the grooming, i don't think i will send lor cos it's really expensive. the other day because i bought the dog clipper then my mom said that don't know how to use.... then only they allowed to bring my dog to the shop and they teach us how to groom the MS style. i think they groom until so 'syok' already...they groomed until nice nice and professional FREE!!

wah yesterday i used the clipper, something wrong with the adpater and can't charge the clipper. scare me only cos it's expensive and don't know the shop let us to change or not cos we bought it last three weeks and now only start to use. luckily we went there they checked actually is the adapter spoiled already and they changed a new adapter for us. Smile

well, practise makes perfect mah. now i also can see fluffy's style like kinda weird. after a few times grooming then will be very 'geng' one lar.... if your dog don't have skin problem then the ear will be very clean. my dog got skin problem so very smelly and dirty....it's like brownish wax damn a lot. the smell...i think can make ppl pengsan also ler.... Unsure

yea it's free. that shop really have a good service. they will patiencely teach you how to groom then how to hold the clipper and all those stuffs lar. first time groom sure look like an alien than a dog. seriously...hehe...

wah... really can pengsan ler the smell... every month when send my dog for check up, the vet sure will smell her ear. wah imagine she can tahan my dog's smell. if Tammy don't mind then can help my dog to clean it up. Sly

hiee. I read that you have started gromming Fluffy? So not fluffy anymore ar...got look like Rufus or not? Rufus' Fur is growing...but then the face seems to grow faster than the body. Still not fluffy yet...but the fur now looks very much smoother than original. I think its the extra supplements that the vet ask us to give. also maybe because of the pedigree springo that I give...he really enjoys that.

So how is the grooming DYI going? got struggle alot? I am also trying to pluck the ear hair...sometimes no choice but to really press him down. Rufus does not like me using the tweazer (the one i use for eyebrows..hehehe). maybe like you say...very ticklish.

Did you go to the launching thingy in Tmn Desa? I saw many MS there. Dunno which one is your's.

It would be so cute if next time Fluffy can dance himself....following your bro.

I am trying to teach Rufus to Ching Ching...like the chinese greeting. sigh...teach so many times still dunno...he just stare at me blank...and I gotta show him again....am not giving up cause dogs do ching ching very funny

. I was standing the side near to the Purina booth. Watching the race. The JRT was born to run man....can see the body structure got good starting position. Then saw a bull dog...maybe its Taro...walk slumber to the owner ...so cool.

I would definitely go again..but the next time would be the first sunday of october...cause next two weekends not around ler. going bangkok one weekend...hmm...do you know if there are any good pet shops in bangkok?

My bf also went to look see look see too. Then he admit he did enjoy himself but say quite dirty ler cause just after heavy rain. He was happy to see there are several terriers with droopy ears...so proof his dog Woofie is pretty normal Tongue

. My mum was there too...and met her long lost school mate! small world eh.

I think I saw Taro in the doggy race last sunday 12 september in Tmn Desa. He was walking very slumber and cool....was that him?

I went there without Rufus as was on the way back to my home. Was really fun watching all the dogs race...all with different personalities. will be going there again to look see look see the first sunday of october.

my bro is elder than me. well, although my bro always go to those place, he advised me not to go this kind of place cos it's dangerous. u know lar.....every night sure got a lot of things happen one.

yea.... one day u should go to the pet shop and have a look. PW's stuff are quite expensive. i never buy my dog stuffs there. luckily my place here got a petshop. the place where u wait for limkokwing bus, opposite there got a petshop. hmm....the prices oklar if compare with those big petshop. can bargain somemore.

i think Fluffy will mind cos she's quite fierce ler. maybe less mix with dog. no choice ler... my dog also likes to lick our feet especially when we after bath. our feet sometimes wet, she will lick it dry for us. hahaha... somemore she likes to kiss us one. one day we should come out and meet up. hehe..

hmm... the plucking ear part really tough. if you press even harder the dog will even don't want to let you pluck his hair. really need to teach him stay and lay down properly. at first Fluffy doens't really like it but then after i scolded her a few times then she really stay and let me pluck. really very dirty. that time i didn't really want to pluck her hair. i just clean the ear then got time then i spend some time pluck her hair. wah still got so much of wax and so smelly. becos of the hair make it so smelly and the wax stuck in the hair.

noler, i didn't go to tmn desa. no time and somemore every sunday i go to my grandma's house. that time really wish to go one ler.. too sad. did u bring rufus go? u got send him for training?

haha....i hope that Fluffy can dance like the Garfield movie... when garfield dancing with the dog. so cute.

Ching Ching ar... quite hard to teach. last time i saw my friend's labrador know how to do that. really cute. recently my dog only understand us when we call her to sit. 4 months old only understand how to sit. hahaha... how old is Rufus? he knows how to do all the basic tricks already?

don't know how to say ler. puppies usually what also eat and what also lick. hey is it normal that puppy loses their teeth when young and will grow back just like human? Fluffy lost 3 of her bottom teeth.

Oh, I never stop at IOI after class, I take the bus until Kelana Jaya to sit LRT loh... so cham rite? Sigh, summore I got licence to drive but no car hahhaha.....

Oh, for puppy it is normal, will change all her teeth in a year so don't worry.... you got collect her teeth? So far, I've only managed to collect one tooth from Willy, my other dogs all swallow theirs hahahahah so cannot collect hehehe.... They will grow back just like human teeth.....

Yarlor, cannot help it also coz boxers by nature are gurads and hunters in Germany long long time ago, they are very good watch dogs loh... sayang only coz if I had socialized them with lots of pepol and other dogs when young ah sure they will be very friendly....

aiyo..i MIA again. Very busy week. Pedigree Springo, its coiled up like spring (like car suspension). Made of Beef and has Omega 3 (either 3 or 6 ler). Omega oil is good for their coat...just like good for our skin Laugh

. In Carrefour its cheaper..but by 30 sens only ler. Supplements...hm, din check the name but it is multivites and some good oil. The vet say eat for 3 months and its liquid form so can camouflage into its food.

Fluffy's ears still smelly ar? Got use Ear cleaner or not? Nicer smell. Then cleaner than using pure water. I massage the ears after filling it with a bit of the cleaner then ask him to shake his head. Then gotta slowly dig out the stuff and ensure its dry loh. Time consuming ar.

Wah...if fluffy can dance like Garfield that will be so cool. Maybe should let fluffy watch Garfield everyday

Yeah...ching ching trick very difficult ler. Still not very successful yet. He just stands up and extend his paws...dunno how to move them up down up down.

Rufus is about 5months old already...time flies. hhmmm.. basic stuff ar...he knows sit-stay, down-stay, Shake Hands(very reluctant one), up, fetch. I think about that ler. Training him to stay when I walk away. One thing for sure...he will do anything for food (greedy fellow)

I always have that over excited habit when seeing so many doggies around...1st time was in UPM dogathon, I'm excited until do not meet any members here...2nd was during pp's 2nd vaccin where I met one cocker spaniel in vet there and I forgot to ask those questions that I wanted to ask, but luckily my bf is with me and I have told him what I wanted to ask...else.... Rufus' fur is growing but a bit slow. He still scratches once in a while but the infection is no longer there. However, I still keep a close watch everytime i bathe him.

Hope o see you at RDO day....sounds like a great interesting event.

hahaha...i just managed to collect one big one. those front teeth can't collect. actually i don't know the tooth broken one. i saw her like chewing chewing until so syok then i checked her mouth nothing in her mouth. then check again only can see that she's chewing her tooth. yealer.... when always train her what to do and she able to do it, will feel very happy one.

ohhh...that one called springo ar. hmm...saw that before. i think i just mix the omega oil in her food to make the fur shinnier. hope can helps lor.

yealer...her ears still smelly but going to use ear cleaner to wash it. no time to go and buy ler. got any brand to recommend or not. ear cleaner got smell one meh? once i saw the groomer put some liquid outside of my dog's ear. smell so nice. like fruity smell. do u know what's that ar? i forget to ask the groomer. but everytime i really take about half an hour to clean her ears.

wah wah.....always let her watch. so geng meh. do you think that she able to learn? hahahaha...

like what u said...time consuming lor.. the ching ching trick so hard but one day sure he able to do it.

my dog also so greedy. when she see me take treats for her. ask her to do some trick also cannot ler. her full concerntration will be at the treat. hahaha... but when give her treat, of cos ask her to stand for a certain time then only give her eat.

Wah...have not seen a fruity smelling cleaner. Hm..the one I use was recommended by the groomer of Rufus when I bought him. Its Cardinal brand...smells refreshing. I also saw Aristotle brand...think that is ok too....my vet use this brand. The Vet use Ear Powder, squeeze onto her fingers then pluck the hair. Then only use Ear Cleaner. But i lazy with the ear powder ler.

hehhe..i also wonder whether dogs understands TV. Fluffy watch too much garfield...instead of learning the dance...learn his lazy ways how ar Crazy

Oh the ear powder is to pluck the hair easily ar? I have difficulty plucking his ear hair with tweazers (used for plucking eye brows for humans). He does not like it a bit...maybe too ticklish. How do you pluck fluffy's ear hair?

I always move his front paws and say ching ching many times (sound like parrot already). Still he very blur..i think he is trying to move the paws a bit but then not very coordinated.

hehhe...fluffy always tarik harga ar? I think he does not want to appear greedy ler....good behaviour loh. Rufus...once the bowl reach the floor the food all gone.

I didn't send Rufus for training yet. You are attending the Sunday course ar? Actually what do they teach ar?

yup. the ear powder is to prevent bleeding and it's easily to pluck. i also using tweezer to pluck. Fluffy also doesn't like it. it might be the ticklish thing. usually i let her lay down on the floor and pluck it. she will move here and there and really need to say 'no' and 'stay'. i noticed that cannot press her head. when press down, she will even don't like it and lagi worst. so just let it freely and pluck and scold lor. really take times. but now i didn't use any ear powder for it.

hmm....maybe this kind of dog really not meant to do ching ching. have u ever see any dog do ching ching? well so far i saw those are big dogs who are able to do it.

yealar...i wonder how much she worth. tarik until so high. hehe... she's like a princess in the house. i think going to be a queen. i trained her to pee and poo in a basket with newspaper on it. so that basket is her 'toilet'. then sometimes we don't know that she did her business there. and she intend to do some small business in her toilet but then got pee and poo, she doesn't want to go there to do her business. she has to make sure that the newspaper is dry and clean only she will do her business there. princess or not? Crazy

have you ever heard Rufus fart? Fluffy fart in front of me. so rude. not once. a few times. aiyo... i wonder what she eats until can fart. very cute sound. hahaha...

i didn't send Fluffy for training. no money so can't send. Unsure

but i heard from my friend, she said that actually the training is very normal. they only teach sit, rollover, stand, stay and etc. those very basic stuffs. well, that time she sent her dog is from MKA training but this puppy.com.my i'm not so sure about it. the next intake willl be in january 2005. that time my dog already 8 mths olds. so long. you planning to send?

So got a few rugs to change to. Then my mum will wash them. I once use those sheets for toilet training one...but a bit too ex for long run ler. yea... aiya....give bit by bit it's ok one. if always give that, scare that the dog don't want to eat other food. last time i used to give the whole stick. then she doesn't want to eat her dog biscuit. wah... then don't want to give her so many times and so much to eat. last time my dog also vomit before. wah damn scary ler. i asked the vet. he said that maybe after eating she jumps here and there so might vomit out the food. i thought what happen. hehehe....

do you think ask ppl to carry then do the ears is even harder. at first is really hard but after every week do the ear cleaning, i think Rufus will get use to it.

most of the dogs scare of heights. wah my dog can be like supergirl. how high also i think she's not scare. i tell u lar.... last time we always check and check again see she's a male or female. cos the character is like a male. so rough and active. not those gentle kinda girl. hahaha....

if you teach your dog to pee and poo in our human's toilet then they will know but then i think Rufus is too small. scare will flush himself ler. Crazy

my friend's dog knows how to poo in our toilet and flush himself. it's not pure breed. it's those paria dog somemore. terror.

i know that dogs will fart but then i don't know why they fart. maybe got too much air in the stomach. my friend called me to massage her stomach to let the air come out of her stomach. she loves it a lot. maybe you should try too. those massage therapy. dogs love being massaged.

today i brought Fluffy to meet my friend and her dog (shih tzu). trying to make her more socialize. then... she did bark at first then i called my friend to touch her and sayang her. then she's ok with it. hehehe... then when comes to meet her shih tzu, wah... that shih tzu scare of her ler. she's like the kaki buli there. haiyo.... somemore like suddenly go near the shih tzu and scare him. but also nothing serious happen like fight or wrestling. luckily. Wink

have Rufus meet any strangers or dogs? got bark fiercely or not?

ooo...massage. Yupyup..i massage rufus alot ler. the tummy and also back of the neck. I do that to calm him down when he is overly excited.

yup...Rufus went visiting before. He is also like Fluffy. When he went to my cousin's place, he invaded her Shih Tzu (Hazel)'s crate leh. Then Hazel just lay down outside like big sister taking care of baby bro. Hazel just let Rufus bite her leg.

In my friend's place, he scarred Woofie (silky terrier). Woofie very anti social with dogs one...she will become very jealous and moody, and will stay far far from the dog. Rufus hor...very clever to take ppl's heart. When at other ppl's house...so good boy. Just sit beside other ppl loh. Unlike at home

But if a stranger comes to my house and i dun seem to entertain them (like sales ppl) then he will bark.

Yah, the car rental people were saying that, I was like 'Hit a kangaroo?' Luckily we didn't meet any kangaroos on the road, only in the zoos hahahah.... Oh, you saw a mince lizard? I saw a mice dog today... so cham... splattered all over the road.... sigh.... poor thing..... and that's not the grosses I've ever seen. The most disgusting thing I've ever seen was a mince cat made by my dogs... really mince cat!!!! The bones and meat all crushed up and vomited out on the floor... I had to clean it, lagi teruk loh.... Rexx lah, he go and mince up the cat's head and front legs, only left the body and back legs whole.... the head ah.. gross!!! One ear here lah, a bit of jaw there lah.... why lah???!!!!!

Topknot not hard to do, it is like tying a coconut tree on a child's head heheheh... Willy used to have a cotton ball topknot hahaha.... coz I made it all round and fluffy hahahha..... Try lah when Rufus has his long hari... then you'll have fun buying him ribbons.... oh, there is also a trick in getting a very nice topknot. Don't buy normal rubber bands for hair... Go to dentist and buy the rubber bands for barces, the biggest they have, it would be just right for tying a topkont.

dogs memang hang fook. we can massage for them if they want. when we want i wonder who will massage for us. i don't think our dog can do that. hahaha... Unsure

I just came back from Bangkok...wah doggy things there cheaper. Dog bag only 25 Rm ...then the JerHigh packets only 10RM for 3. which is about RM 6 here. Regret not buying more

Yeahloh...Rufus is ultimately naughty. Bite people everytime even when we are walking. Then extend arm to sayang him, he avoids cause thinks we are playing catch with him. Once, he grabbed my receipt which i need to use for my claims...aiyo...worth 25 RM there mannnn....nearly made it as his snack. Crazy

I had to chase him round the house to catch him and force open his mouth.

Coz he was out with Tammy and Tammy never would never hurt a fly, she's a lab and not her nature to kill animals... Rexx is by naure a chaser and hunter loh..... guard also... sigh, poor cat....

Hohoh..... almost telan your receipt hahaha..... eh, better than my uncle's dog, too k the floor rag and chewed it... later he telan it and had trouble pooing..... late found the cloth stuck inside his butt, my uncle had to pull the cloth out of his butt.... aiyoh... crazy lah.....

Hahah.. don't be scared, after a few rounds of grooming, will get used to it wan.... like me, it took me a very long time to groom Willy at first but late, only 1 hour a day hahahah... now ah, 3 times a week, 15 minutes a day heheheheh... short fur mah... Tongue

like Fluffy, althoguh my mom every morning have to wake up very very early to give Fluffy eat and let her pee and poo before she goes to work, Fluffy still always stick with me and not really her. hehehehe.... i also in charge in bathing and grooming. if i'm not around in a month, i think Fluffy going to smell worse than a cat's poo. hahaha...

You know, everyday Rufus gives me the kinda look in the morning that makes me feel sad leaving him alone the whole day (well till my mum comes back in the afternoon). haiyo...make me duwan to work. but dun work, no food for him...hehehe.

Ah I also a bit lost hahahah, a few days never login and I'm already lost hahahahaa......

Oh, play badminton ah, so enjoyable hehehehe.... but the RDO was really fantastic lah, better than the 1st one....so so many dogs and I got to see a really nice well clipped silver MS, so silvery ah..... and I think I also got to see a maltese or two.... but there were many big dogs like great danes and st. bernards lah.... labradors were very common.....

Yah loh, like magic show only, go in from one side, come oput from another side ahhaahah.....

Rexx is a boxer..... he looks like a rottie meh?

Hehehe... longer ah, means good lah, got sings of growth mah..... wait for around a year or 2, all the fur will grow very nice by then.... it took Willy about 1 1/2 year to grow a beautiful shih tzu coat....
