I have confirmed with Christine and she has accepted my credit card details as bookings. She told me that I am confirmed. Still, do I have to call the resort just before the trip in case some premium members made a last minute booking and the resort cancel my booking? Or can I rest assured that my booking is now 100% solidly confirmed and I can sleep easy at nights now? I am no. 34 on the list.

Dear Mr. Khoo,

I have confirmed the room with my credit card and even faxed in to confirm the reservation. Today AFamosa called to request to charge my credit card today. I disagree with such request as I have worked in 6 stars hotel and traveled extensively and no such early charge request is in practice. I have told her that I would only settle the charges upon checking in but she has all the right to charge me the full room if I fail to show up. The lady Christine (I am not mad at her as she is merely acting upon her management's instruction) said that there are a lot of members on waiting list so they want to charge my credit card now.

Since I do not agree to such practice in principle, I have cancelled my reservation (under item 33 of the name list), please delete me from the list. I thank you for all the effort put in and hope that we can have a less "surprises" event in future. TQ.

Dear Mr. Khoo,

I have provided my credit card details & fax over my credit card copy to A'Famosa and today I recieved a call to say that they need to charge my card by today inorder to block the booking for me, I am always support puppy.com's event and I don't want to break my promises to my doggy,so I have no choice but to let them charge. I am not so happy with Afamosa's arrangement but what can I do ? I am also a frequent traveller and this is the first encounter for me and I don't feel nice too...but I appreciate puppy.com has done a great effort to make this event happen..

A'famosa informed us that they already called you last week (17/06/04) at 07-6622814 (your boy friend phone number), your boy friend informed A'famosa, cancel the trip. You submitted the form, name under : Ng Khai Ting, type : bungalow and Your address is Petaling Jaya, I can't understand why you didn't give your own number instead of your boy friend Johor phone number. Today A'famosa called your boy friend 2 times, asked him to give your phone number, he refused to give.

Pls reply this post, give your phone number to us by today, if not your booking will be open to the waiting list people.

Thanks for your understanding. For payment arrangement, we have no control on it, all depend on A'famosa's management, we also didn't earn any single cent from them, we just provide a community services for all dog lovers only. A'famosa want to collect payment first, b'cos they scare that you all last minute didn't turn up, they want to give chance to other people and whether you all interested to join or not, you all can decide yourselves. If everybody feel so unhappy about the trip, may be in the future we won't organise any trip again.

I have cancelled my reservation (under no.37), please delete me from the list.

Please inform Afamosa management that their staff is very unprofessional. At first the lady Christine called a few times for my credit card number, since I�m not comfortable giving her my credit number, I�ve requested her to fax the direct bank in details. In the hand written fax sent, the bank account no. was stated as Afamosa Sales & Marketing Sdn Bhd Mad

and there was no indication that it is an official fax from Afamosa as it is written on a white piece of paper.

Thank you for your effort to put together this event.

Your booking is confirmed. May be they will need your credit card (at the back) last four digit number to confirm the credit card transaction.

Thanks for the effort to make this event happen, I have to say you guys have put in a lot off effort....pls don't let the reprimant let you down, its A'Famos's policy and this policy is not only applicable to puppy.com member, its across the board,we just have to follow thier rules if we wanted to have a holiday there.

It will not cause any frustration if the members were informed by A'Famosa earlier on the booking regulations,but it's never too late lah !

Hope other members can understand too !.

Agreed. A'Famosa should have a proper sheet stating their payment methods and that should come with their letterhead. This will be feedback to A'Famosa for improvement.

Hi, this is a big gathering and we understand that it is not easy to organize something as grand when there are so many variables not within your control. Please don't get frustrated, after learning from this gathering's issues, I am sure the future ones will be better. Wink

Furthermore, it will take all the fun out if there is no hiccup!!! Tongue

A'Famosa's procedure is definitely not up to par but since this is not a hotel management forum, I suppose we should just leave it at it is.

Please do keep up the splendid work in keeping us the doggie lovers together as we do (at least I do) appreciate you guys thou we have not been giving you guys a pat on the back often enough. Wishing you guys the best of fun at A'Famosa.

Hi. Just wanna clear one member's statement about Siti.

I've been contacted by Siti, and yes, she exist Smile

. I just called Christine to check if my booking is confirmed, and Christine asked me to speak to the person that called me... which is Siti, and Christine passed the phone to Siti... so, she is there Smile

Apparently, they both work on separate name list. Since my name is on Siti's list, I had to speak to Siti (instead of Christine) to get my confirmation.

But ya, I feel that they are kind of "fresh", cause they didnt tell me anything else apart from getting my credit card number. I mean she should like tell me, "we'll fax you a receipt slip (or any means of booking confirmation) once your booking is confirmed", instead of leaving me wondering "have I been confirmed?".

Yaya, it is dangerous to give credit card details.. just found out from the threads.. Frown

LUcky it's a real A'Famosa staff that called!

Yup, Siti is indeed a A'Famosa staff.

After being given the correct no. to call, I managed to speak to her. The confusion was from A'Famosa end, the staff handling the general line were not informed of the event and don't realise they've a staff called Siti ?! Crazy

Again, BRAVO !!! to the Organiser for helping to sort out these teething problem.

It's a major effort to organise an event like this, it's not just any event, but a doggie gathering. If anyone thinks it's easy, well, think again ...

Think of all the short coming, we should still be happy that at least A'Famosa allow our furkids there for holiday. That are very few resort in Malaysia of this scale, let alone the fact that resort that allow dogs. This is the 2nd resort stay organized by us and before this, we have spoken to a lot of resort and all came back with a strong negative respond. Hence, there is nothing much to complaint if their service level does not meet your requirement.

Thank you so very much!!! I am so excited. Pity the trip is a month away. Can't wait to meet up with fellow dog lovers and their adorable furkids. For all there, please do not be afraid when you see my robby. He might be big and aloof sometimes but he is just a mummy's boy all the same. He responds well to dog lovers who are not intimidated by his size.

One question...if we do go out to makan, are our dogs to stay in the room? Or can they join us?

I am not sure on this issue and we shall check with A'Famosa when we are there. Hopefully, they will have some outdoor restaurant that are not friendly.
