As mentioned in earlier post, the date is confirmed changed to July 24, 2004 ~ July 25, 2004. The change was made by A'Famosa so we just have to follow. Due to shortage of rooms, not all will get the room and priority are given to premium card members. We will have a clearer picture in 2 ~ 3 weeks.

Some common questions asked by members on the A'Famosa stay and some simple FAQ as follow :-

Does the Resort prepare food for my dog ?
NO. You will need to take along your own dog food.
Does the Resort prepare bed for my dog to sleep ?
NO. You can either take along your own kennel or dog bed so that your dog sleep comfortably with you.
Where will my dog sleep ? With me in the room or in another allocated place for dog ?
Your dog will sleep with you in the room or the hall of your family studion or Bungalow.
Must I bring along my dog's Kennel ?
It is optional. As long as you are able to handle your dog without a kennel, you can do without it.

some of us have been approached by afamosa and requested to give our credit card numbers. this is not a safe practise. could you arrange for an alternative. giving the bank account number so that we can transfer money will be a good practise. i think this should be advised to afamosa formally. also we the members should be informed not to give out credit card numbers. anyone could call us in the name of afamosa.

is it confirmed that if i pay then i can attend. there was a mention that premium members will be given preference.

You can always ask for their account number, deposit the funds and then fax the deposit slip to them. Ask them for a reference before making deposit.

hi puppycom,

i know there are a few of them really upset over the change of date, its true that you all are doing a great job and i only can thank and appreciate the effort.

a suggestion though ..

on each events' forum, on each page, on top there should be 3 links

1. participant list - this way u don't use up the space on the forum pages. a list of 50+ users updated some 10 times on each page of the forum - u can imagine what remains in the forum and the subsequent hassle of a person online with a ordinary non-highband/streamyx connection. participants need to post on the forum only their details, anyway the admin is updating their records, why not at one place rather at so many places

2. info - crucial information about the event; map, venue, time, urgent alerts like change of schedule etc. can be compiled here. i dont think this shd be repeated another time on the forum. this way the members are not confused where to look. as someone pointed some of us fail to look at the forum regularly and to browse thru all the pages needs quite a lot of time

3. faqs about the event .. do i have to bring my kennel? dog food provided? etc. important queries that all will be interested compiled from the forum into one place. then the forum will be easy to use for communications between the members and, information from the admin will be distinct

FAQ has just been posted. Other crucial information will be posted at the appropriate time as the group of volunteer committee member is still working on it. All will be finally be updated at this thread as well as http://www.puppy.com.my/afamosa/

I know the thread is long and is a pain to read through and well that is the way that is being done now. We shall see ways to improve that.

Hi Mr Khoo,

A'Famosa called again to ask me for a fax copy of my credit card. As per my conversation with you yesterday, I will not do so if they are not going to give me a fax requesting such first. Reason being, it is really dangerous to give copies of one's credit card details to just anyone without first verifying who we are giving it too. I already gave them my credit card number, merchant and expiry date. I find that sufficient info. for them to reserve my accommodation for me. If hotels across the globe can do it, why can't they? It really a matter of professionalism and confidentiality. Unfortunately, they are still insistent but their superior will not speak to me. The sales executive, Christine who spoke to me seems really fresh and doesn't really know what to do.

To all members who are planning to go for this event, please be aware of this matter. It is essentially up to you of course. Just thought I could share my thoughts and concerns with you.

same condition as me,they keep on calling me to fax over the photocopy of my credit card and insisted it must be done before 5 p.m yersterday. I was reluctant at first but then I scare to loose my booking and I done it before 5 p.m as mentioned by Ms Christine. At first I asked if I can pay by my Diners Club,then she siad she don't know what is Diners Club & never heard of it before. Crazy

Just wondering why have to fax my crdit card while I already given the details thru the phone..my first experience. I don't even need to do so when I called Hong Kong or Japan to book my hotel room.... Crazy

U guys really did that ah ? They called me up and asked me to do the same thing but I just gave them the card no, merchant and expiry date.Why they need the photocopy of the credit card huh? I dont think it is safe and I am not going to fax it cos no verification by Afamosa ppl that they have received or something like tat.....later I will get a shock when i receive my bill for payments that I have not made.... Crazy

Was informed about the change of date by A'Famosa when they requested for the payment yesterday. My apologies for not logging on earlier to update myself on the current situations.

I have informed them that we're unable to join the trip (under No.46) as we have other prior arrangements.

I would however like to take the opportunity to convey my thanks & appreciation to the organisers & hope that we could join in on another trip.

Choosing between faxing copy of credit and deposit funds into bank account, choosing the later is definitely safer. Hence those who feel uncomfortable faxing copy of credit card please opt for funds deposit and that will solve the problem.

Dear Organizer,

This Christine keep asking me for a photocopy of my credit card but I have given her the details and that should be sufficient. The practice of this faxing over copy of the credit card is unusual. Even the merchant bank had advised against doing so to avoid cloning of the cards.

Also, she insisted that I bring a cage for my dog. My Rottweiler is 60kg and I have never owned a cage or kennel. Even if I can get my hands on one. How to transport there? Need a van or pick up truck. My rottweiler is very well behaved and disciplined. Does not bother about other people and other dogs. My rottie will not have a problem sleeping indoors as long as he is near me.

I am so confused. Is my booking still firm despite all these gray areas?

We're no. 50 on the list.

My hubby, who's currently in Sydney, got a call from A'Famosa yesterday, and provided his Credit card details to a lady with the name of Siti. This Siti called again today, left a voice message and a fax number, asking for a fax copy of the front & back of the credit card, latest by end of the day.

When my hubby called A'Famosa just now to enquire for their account no. as per your suggestion, he was told there's no such person called Siti, and the fax number given by this Siti does not belong to A'Famosa. In addition, the staff are not aware of any gathering organised by puppy.com.

Please advise. Is 06-5520888 the right no. to call ? Who should we contact ? Thanks for your help.

Just call Christine at 03-5520777. The photo copy of credit card (front and back) is no longer required. We have convinced them not to ask for it.

Today A'famosa call me for payment. They ask me to bank-in the deposit in Bumiputra Commence & the A/C no is 0409-0000345-057.

why the new user can take part in the event while the old member cant? the oppoturnity is open to premium member but how about other? new user who had just register have receive call but i already register for long time didnt get any call...what is that mean? is it unfair for us who had register long time ago?

hi there guys... it's been a VERY long time i didn't enter to the forum... i have just shifted to singapore and now everything has be settled down... well as someone who knows me and also know my two little babies... so sorry that i didn't give my babies news and their latest news... but i'll post it up later ok ? about this trip in A famosa... i think it's totally cool and i do wish that i can bring my two babies there too but i think in this moment i don't think it's possible that i can bring my babies back to malaysia in the moment because they just got used to the enviroment here....well hope that all of you will have fun in this trip ... good luck you guys as i know that all of your furball will be happy on that day... and congratutations mr khoo for making this event happen!!!
