Dear All

ROUND 5 and this time its on a SUNDAY !!! But do let me know if u guys prefer to have this on a Saturday as the Sunday chosen is on ELECTION DAY.

Date : March 21, 2004 (Sunday)

Meeting Venue : Taman Pendidikan Bukit Gasing

Time : 7:30 AM (sharp)

we hope to be able to go into the jungle by 7.45 AM

Join us in the list below :

Direction 1 :

From Padang Merbok’s roundabout use the way towards Telekom. After driving passed Telekom on your left you will see a row of shoplot and signboard of a restaurant called “Lotus”. Just before Lotus Restaurant, on your right, you will see a Chinese Temple and there is a junction. Turn right. After turning do go all the way straight for about 200 – 300 meter and there should be a playground of some sort and you can park your cars there. There should be a signboard that says : Tmn Pendidikan Bukit Gasing.

Direction 2 :

Beside the Lasalle School, there is the Raju Restaurant – go straight all the way up and you will reach a T junction. At the T junction do turn to your right and go all the way straight you should be able to see the playground.

Things to take note of :

1. Dogs have to be on leash/harness on all times.
2. Please pick up after our furkids poo.
3. Bring plastic bags
4. Bring water for human n for furkids
5. Wear stockings
6. Have a good pair of walking shoe or sneakers.
7. One dog per person is highly recommended as it’s a real jungle trail.
8. Don’t wear too short a shorts if you are afraid of being scratch by the bushes and donating blood to the mozzy ya ! ;)

you should be able to come out from the jungle by 9 am or so.... so far our walks have never gone passed the 10 am mark except for the 1st time where we took the harder trek of all.

ok will let ur request known to surind (our tour guide) hehehehe.... the stream is GOOD ! and I bet last week everyone missed the stream part of the walk. There was once the stream was running high and we got wet till abt our knee lor.... so dun complain if u get wet ya !

prepare some newspaper if u dun wanna get ur car seats wet ya !

cheh!....i really took u seriously abt this holiday thingy if BN wins...hahaha....but come on,who doesn't like hols?...well,i dun think me,dad nor dodger would mind abt the water,eventhough dodger is afraid of swimming...ahaha...everytime when i try to encourage him to swim,he'll just be like walkin on the shallow side of the lake(at the 1 Utama garden lake)...weird doggie,he's supposed to be a swimmer....guess he's not cut out for this swimming thing....hahah just like walkin on water,gettin his paws to cool down from the hot ground.... Cool

Yay! Round 5!

Count me and my dad in, plus the furkids ( of course ). Wahahaha! My dad kept pestering me ever since Sunday to check "Whether's there's round 5 or not this weekend". He even said if there's no trekking this weekend with you guys, he's thinking of going alone ( with me in tow ). HOHOHO

If change the date ah, please let me know earlier. Also ah... are you guys going to stop at the stream to rest? Just asking because when Chelsea nampak water, she'll become siau-char-boh like that, especially after a long trek.

But then again, for Chelsea, walking every 1m is a long trek to her. Wonder if she'll pass out halfway this time. Hahahaha.

The Apple's launch was good.... or should I say GREAT ! the 3 ipod lucky draw main prize was won by 1 malay couple, 1 chinese guy and lastly an indian couple ! I commented that they really have a 'multi-racial" winner lor... how malaysian and how lucky those ppl ar ! I was there helping out the whole day ler... till leg also feel like breaking adi after being there for more than 12 hrs ! did u go that day ? there was sooo many ppl waiting in the morning to go in at 10.30 till all of us also got scared liao ! hhehehehe

As I think a lot of ppl miss the stream... i think this time we will definitely go through the stream (at least u too get a chance to enjoy it mar esp those who never went through it before) its really nice you know !

Don't worry since there is soooo many ppl confirm liao on sunday i dont think there will be a change of date and if there is any (which i dun think so) i'll definitely let you guys know earlier lor.

Haha, doesn't matter what dog you bring, as long as it's not fierce. Hahah! (^_^) So far the largest dog I've seen during the trek ( uh... well, since I've only came in at round 4 ), is Anjali. Cute lah, so tall. Haha, wonder if my Abby can grow as big as Anjali. Doubtful though, my Abby's a mix btw Rotti and Dobbie.

My brother wanted to bring his Rottie to the KK gatherings but couldn't because his Rottie already grown up and not very sociable with other dogs ( especially males ). Takut nanti his dog bite other people's furkids, macam mana? (^_^)

I don't know whether you guys want to organise another round on the 24th of April because I saw a flyer in my college ( HELP Institute ). There'll be a charity trek ( or something ) on the 24th. Just want to let you know that there'll be quite a number of people on that day lah... if you guys still want to organise the trek, go ahead. HOHOHO, I prefer to trek with dogs than my college mates.

Hahaha, because if know earlier, we can make changes. Wanna have trekkings every week lah!

All I know it's Bkt.Gasing but from the pic on the flyer, it looks like the one where we all met last week before we walk further up to another jalan kecil to climb up. You know there's a papan tanda there right?

I don't even know if there'll be alot of people or not. I'll kepoh in college and see. If there's anything, I'll tell you guys. Hohoho...

Hi! Just wanna say a sincere thanks for organizing the outing. I definately enjoyed it. So did Yen Yen.

Sorry did not manage to join in at Padang Merbuk, had to rush to pick up my ma at a school nearby. She finished electing early, so din want her to wait there long ma, cause I already left her in the house since I rushed all the way to Bkt. Gasing even though I told her the night before I'll be sending her to the school to vote! My bro's gf had to send her in the end.. eeesssh pai seh!

You do not need any permission from MPPJ to walk the dogs in Bukit Gasing. As long as the dog is properly leash it is within the law to walk them there. Friends of Bukit Gasing comfirms this.

Sunday is the busiest day, we usually avoid Bukit Gasing on sundays.

Would be great if star did story. Let me know time and place, will be there with my fur kids!

The stream way to the platform is the best workout, but you need to carry water for the furkids, they need to make a few stops to recover from walking along the river bed. It is also the best route to use on busy days, as only one small group walks that route on week ends, so dogs can be allowed to run free along the stream.

The trek was great ! we had a very good turnouts.... about 20 dogs all together or more if i'm not mistaken. I fell down on one part and hurt my bum LOL.... guess what ? we had the most minpin on show that day lor.... small dogs more than the big ones :D hehehee.....

Hi Pia,

Yes there is many joggers there that's why the emphasis is on the owner to know how to be nice and friendly with the ppl and be responsible - picking up poo, making sure that the dog don't get near the joggers by leaving space for the joggers to pass thru 1st, having the dog on leash at all times and etc.

No we dont need any sort of approval from MPPJ on this and I doubt that they would give it to us anyway. That's why we need to be responsible and make sure no one complain about us, the dog, the poo and etc when we are there with our doggies.

Hey, anyone on that day took photos, please kindly email me whatever you took... I am still upset and cannot get over it... The ones I took, all gone... All data from the digital camera disk are gone forever... No one knows why... I checked on screen before dropping it to my friend's mailbox to ask her to download for me (using Mac and this is an old model)... She said no photos inside... I have no more hope so please whoever had took some photos that day (got or don't have me also want).. My email address is vicfion@time.net.my.... None of these memory can be re-take... So upset... Not just these I took some from SPCA and others too... Gosh I don't think I ever want to use a digital camera again... Or maybe I will, I don't know... sigh... Frown

Nice ones on dogs too...The one with the JRT jumping up to the GR and the Newfoundland dog... And with my friends and so many more.. My dogs too... On car rides how he behave.. All gone.. Even the visit to SPCA and 2 forum member visited me.... My friend gave birth, my pets, my girls.. Everything... can never re-take that event/moment of beautiful memory.. Sob Sob Sob.. Sorry.. just have to get out... Can view from the display in the camera but just cannot see in the PC... Gosh.. Do you think shop can fix that kind of problem? Thanks again.. No prob! I took about 6 or 7 pics, cannot remember.

Does your camera use memory card or direct from camera? If you can view it from the camera display, you should be able to view it on the PC. Maybe the PC has problems reading the info. Should be able to retrieve it.

Do what I always do..... after taking pics from an event, retrieve your pics from the camera as soon as you can. Don't keep pics in memory after a few events or occasions coz memory cards can go cranky. You know lah...technology.... things can go siau-siau. One minute can, one minute cannot. Laugh

Too late lo.. I have 131 photos to take ma so I thought can do it a few event but hey I am fast already lo... In 1 day can finished one disk but just that I am using Mac so have to wait to send over to my friend to help me to download it... Do you think the photos still in there? The photo shop can help me to get it out? Now even worst there are 2 little disks I took in 1 week... At first both can view from the camera but cannot from the PC now one of them cannnot even view from the camera.. Somemore has to be the jungle trekking ones... So sad... What you think.. But the camera stated "00" the memory is full,cannot take anymore photo "wo"... The camera use memory card one... I call it hehehe little disks oops... Any suggestion? You think shop can help? They have better equipment? Fiona

hey fiona, dun be so sad...the pro ppl will help u out...juz relax...!!!cool down my lady..i oso haf the same experienced like you..all my photo gone..i even burned all to a cd..some how, i cud not retrieve it bck fr the cd and oso the memory card..so sad..all gone... none of it can be retrieved from the camera..sigh...dun wori, u r not the 1 who is unlucky...me more worst...start from zero..everything gone except the few photos that left on my ofis's pc... Crazy

I know I have no hope but yet I am still trying... Will send the memory card to the shop and try out... Praying hard that her driver got problem not the card.... Oh please please please... Aiyo, my dad say maybe if there's another stream trek, he might decide not to join because too difficult.

Not difficult for us humans but since we're bringing our furkids, they're the one that's very susah. I don't know if other dogs pulls at their leash or not but when we're descending the hill, Chelsea was pulling very hard. My dad sprained his toes liao.

At least Abby didn't pull that hard. I nearly tumbled down the hill at one time when Chelsea try to potong jalan. The fat girl when absolutely bonkers when she saw the stream. I think she's the wettest doggie there that day, even the JRTs aren't that wet.

There's one very cute JRT though, the colour change from white to muddy brown liao. So cute!

Hi !

Aiks... ur dad sprain his toes ar ! I fell down on my butt also lar that day :) pain still today lor but ok adi now. but that day ar... the stream is a bit difficult la even for me as that day the water is too high and the stream is running on full blast. Tell ur dad don't lar give it a miss .... give it another one more chance la next time.

You are right.. As for Rambo.. See him also "kasihan".. He knows what day I bring them for outing.. and every Saturday, he would jump up to the car.. And it is not his turn.. So I would lock them in my room and sneak out with whoever's turn.. Later when I come back, he would jump into the car also.. So poor thing.. Fiona

Yes, that trek through the stream is quite difficult. I nearly fell a couple of times. If it were not for the branches, I think I would have been wet too.

I saw Abby at the stream the other day. Looks like she was having fun!

yalor... that day rite i left summer at home while i take mocha out for the jungle trekking poor thing lar... so sad la and guess what the same thing happen when i take summer out n leave mocha at home. sakit hati man....

my 2 juz loves the trek :) my car now is full of their fur lor.... esp mocha was shedding last week and the week before was summers shedding turn. now u can see all the black n stag red fur in my car all over :(

I used a unwanted bed sheet on the back seat or front seat with newspaper on the floor mat... Thanks God not many fur in my car... Worry for my kids ma... Fiona

use newspaper also no use lor.... they mess up the whole place n mocha prefers to sit n pat kua on me while terry or me driving. she only likes the driver seat Crazy

Oh I see.. I uderstand.. I have sand all over my front seat because of Thunder... As I said the only dog is a good traveller is Rambo.. Sit quietly at the back seat... But I see Baby is good too even she is scare she would just hide her face under the car seat.... Fiona

So cute... and I miss mine who I left in the USA with a Mexican family... My friend suppose to help me to bring back but she back out and until now I blame myself and blame her.. Ya, Abby was gulping at the water when we first reach the clean stream. Initiallly, I let her into the water for her to cool off. Then I cannot tahan myself and jump in with her, so I think I was the wettest human there that day. My pants were wet, my shoes and socsk..

I also like to play with water, that's why Abby, Chelsea and I always ended up in the big water tank in the garden

wow you so lucky ... reach the ultimate status of home minister.. now no need to work.. one of my ambitions also...

cool.. how many kids you have and how old are they?? My dogs are really really "crazy" over kids.. I also dunno why.. when they see kids they will bark and run up and down frantically.. they just love to play with children. they layan children more than they layan adults.. i dunno why also.. sometimes they are so over friendly it freaks the children out.. but there was one incident i would like to share..

once i was walking my dog, a lady was walking with her son as well. Her son was about 2 years old i guess. 3 yrs max. then the lady walk up to me and ask me does your dog bite.. so i said no..

then she asked her son if he wanted to play with the dogs (then i tot disaster already la).. but to my suprise.. my dog stood up and put his paws on the kid's chest and started licking his face.. and the child started laughing happily and the mom was cool with it.. other moms would be going.. aiyaa.. so dirty.. but she was cool with it..

something i would remember the rest of my life..

So nice.. What a nice dog you have.. Touchy touchy story and nice thing your dog did... My kids are all right with animals.. They love and ok wit them.. Aiya grow up with them anyway...
I saw a Cocker in PAWS yesterday.. Wish I can save her but husband say no even I said just wannt get her out and find her a new home only...She was so loving.. Foloowed my direction and cried.. So sad.. So heartbreaking... Wish someone will give her a good home... See Cocker so tender and loving... Gosh... Mine ok with kids but would cry in pain if my kids too rough... I also scare sometimes... My kids? 1 + and 3 + years old...
I wanna work.. If got career won't look down by people especially in-laws... Fiona

I know mine really stick to me like glue...
I just hate in-law.. They suck big time.. They cause both side of the families now are enemies and still think we the wife side are always wrong...
No lei.. Not always... Promise my friend to show her where ma... Very heartbreaking one.. Choose not to go.. Now see.. Wanna save the Cocker also cannot and now keep thinking of her... So sad.. Sob Sob... I told my friend about her.. Don't know she will adopt or not... Willl show her by this week because she don't know how to get there... Fiona
