Hahahah....that's exactly what I was ready to reply Concorn! in fact, i've been busy with my Beanie Boy. when i'm with him physically, he would never STOP moving! running like crazy, jumping up & down, chewing biting howling playing and KACAU my old max! but it's a good exercise for my dad to run after Bean.
The Beagle Club members all MIA.... busy at work gua.... we used to talk a lot too, and msn. but not nowadays....
My beanie still bite bite, i've lost 2 matress ler~ he chewed the sponge out!! whack him will just make things worse.... bought him those stuffed-bones... use the bones to distract him loh~
Hi Concorn, Yeah my Beagle puppies were hyperactive - run jump chase race wrestle. But they have mallowed a lot at 7 months. No more jumping like a JRT, darting around during walks and dashing out of open doors or barking for attention. Now very steady and relaxed. Cant believe it huh? No kidding hahaha. If I remember correctly they go through a period of teething at 7 weeks and will be extra nippy. And Beagles are active and curious so it may be worse. When the puppies play they will retaliate if bitten too hard so they learn from each other. But if Coco dont have other puppies to grow up with then you will have to teach her. Maybe you have to persist for 1-2 months. Please dont let her grow up thinking that biting people is ok. Nowadays, I even let toddlers pat and play with my doggies cos I am confident they wont bite or push or jump at them. But no guarantees for licking lah hahahha. Best regards,J
hi, yeah my doggies chew everything - Table chair door. Even during walks they want to chew at branches, tree trunks and roots. I walk them about 3 km every day. Otherwise they will trash each other indoors. But when they get their exercise they can be very quiet and sleep like babies, heehhehe. Best regards,J
talking about beagle, i got one which is very very notti and stubborn. She will bite anything, whatever she can find on the floor. Her favorite is the tissue paper or newspaper.

Dogs find their own interest n fun with newspaper n tissues.. I think it mz be the noise tat they make on those items. Luckily Coco only mess with it n not eating it. she's like the paper shredder lor... compare to the previous lab i had, she's good oredy lor.. At least she doens't bite my car... hehhehehe
I know it's good for them to walk everyday in the park but it's quite difficult for me since i'm staying in condo where there r lots of malay around... They all very scared of dogs n actully doesn't allow any live stocks in the compound too. But I curi2 bela lor... Poor me. love to hv doggy but kena restrain...

Bean Boy is now at his 7th month..... see no sign of adult-hood... he still acting the way he used to be since months ago, jsut that now can really see he grown smarter!! he knows when am I going to put him back to the crate, i would put back all his toys into the crate and rearrange the setup and also clean the tray pay under the crate. This smart fella would just turn into a quite beagle, sit nicely on his pillow.... pretend to be a good boy boy.... bites nothing, howl no sound.... just quiet and nice and praying.... "PLEASE, dun put me back into it!".
Hi, Your Bean Boy is clever and knows who is boss. My Sparky is also like that. He is bigger and stronger, so he dominates Picnic. But when I step in, he knows he cannot act tough anymore, heheheh. Picnic is often confused cos dunno who to follow so behave distracted during walks. It can be difficult to walk her when her attention is partly on Sparky. I also dunno how to help her except try not to be too irritated. Hmmm, sometimes I also cant believe my 2 rascals can be so well behaved. But it has been consistent for 2-3 weeks now so doesnt look like they are pulling a fast one on me, heheheheh. Best regards,J
Hi Concorn, It is a good idea you plan to walk your Beagle. That will make doggie and owner both happy. I hope you dont get any complains if you get spotted by your neighbours. Hmm...even koogie is like tat, she is 9 months old now. but still acting like a puppy sometimes..everynite when we sleep, she will open the cage door and come out herself, walk here and there, sometimes sleep on the floor with legs widely opened, cant stand her sometimes..lol But her face look more mature than before.. a little bit like old dog liow lor... still..like to bite things when we are not around..and when u said no..she still continues it... like nobody business.. I hope that she will stop doing it SOON !! + I Like to Sleep Like a Lamb~!!!+

Sleep! at night, he sleeps with me. so when i wake up early in the morning, he still oi oi..... also 4 legs UP. but he knows it's about time for him to get back to the cage, he would hide himself under my bed while his eyes still closed! blur blur one.....
Walks are really good for Beagles. As for Nero after his walk he will normally be very quite and just sleep. Not so hyper lar & easier for the owner. At least u can have some peace in the hse.
I'm really lucky that Nero stops his crazy biting habits just a month ago. He is now hooked on the chewy bone. He loves it very much. It is really farnie seeing him carrying his bone here and there and happily biting on it. LOL Hmm...but too bad my whole hse as his "signature" on it. My side table from Ikea was the most amazing creation from Nero. Imagine kena bite until out of balance.
Anyway, just be patience as I bet they will grow up to be a real happy go lucky companion for us. Always chirpy & sunny..

Yeah, I think they share the similar lifestyle..and koogie doesnt get to go out often.. i just bring her out once a week to kota kemuning, run freely and swims..
She like to swim so so much.. right now, she is having skin problem, and her forehead is being shaved... :(
and have to wear that collar..( I dont know what is it called...something like the trumpet shape, to prevent licking or scratching)

they have short attention span and very busybody, i think. Meko doesnt play with her toys long too, just a while then she is bored with it and look for new toys or something to bite (more like it) haha =)

hmm....koogie got skin problem because of her ear problem..
I think i didnt clean her ear properly enough to keep it clean, and thats why she keep scratching it.. ear and of coz the head.. tats why her skin got problem now..like bleeding little bit, so have to shave off a part of it so we can apply medicine on it. The vet shave it and gave me so many medicine and cream..poor koogie have to eat medicine nowadays, i have to force her to eat..
Hmm..little advice. remember to clean coco ear everyday.. because beagle's ear is very sensitive and get dirty easily... that is what the vet said. So...do it, if not..i dont want to see another koogie's case.
Koogie do play with her toy sometimes, well she dont have many toys but just a knot to let her bite. sometimes she will eat the knot bite, and then all the color of the knot will came out wif her poo poo.. lol + I Like to Sleep Like a Lamb~!!!+
Well, Coco will be 3 mths on this 24 mar. Ya lor, beagle is very keh poh wan. They won't play their toys for long. The most is bout like 15 min.
Oh! I nvr cage Coco ever since I brought her hom. Tak boleh cage punya. Manyak bising. Takut rumah also runtuh ho.. Neighbour complaining!! Well, Lucky tat u at least hv some landed prop. to send her to. But me, I can't send her to my inlaw's place, afraid of dog.
So every day, coco will b running freely in the condo. Sleep at nite. Luckily she learned to pee poo at designated place for her so the hse doesn't look tat messy other than her toys every where.!! But she has this habit to pick up all her toys back to the cage every nite... Good huh!!

I think Beagle likes to bite anything n sniff anything. It's their nature of living but we mz tought them n let them know they r actually living in a town lor. hehehehe!! Talking bout tat, last weekend i bought Coco over to my inlaw's place thinking to walk n play with her on the grass. But she doesn't want to touch the grass at all. She will walk very slow with style leh... hahahah... Giggling when looking at her pace...

She's now only 3 mths this 24.3 and I don't think she's having period at such a young age lor... I got to cage Coco to make her get used in the cage. But it's quite difficult for me to do that. She would bark like nobody biz n the neighbours would complaint ler....

HI everyone. I am a newbie and just got a male beagle. the beagle is 2 months old.. Any tips for me??? I am staying in KL.... Good to hear that all of your beagles are listening and obeying orders from owners.. Mine, is still small, sometimes can hear sometimes cannot. haiz....
First of all, congratulations that u have chosen a beagle to be your pet. Welcome to this family! but... your journey from here is a tough yet challenging one i reckon...especially if this is your first ever dog. hehe. Nvm about that...u just gonna learn to be very very very patient now when u have a beagle at home..they are very sweet and lovely but behind their angelic faces they are super mischievious and most of the time a troublemaker....nevertheless...dont worry...they will learn to behave after they are half a year old or so...Beagles are also a very stubborn breed..they are very independent despite their genders. So..start your training as early as possible and make sure ur beagle understands your dominance over him/her. They are very naughty and most of the time wont listen to you. So u must establish this obedience in him/her thru early stages of training and prominent communication with them. Make them know clearly that u are their master and they must follow instructions or else dont pamper them. I used to start some body punishments when my beagle was very young and it worked fine enuff..though many might say No to this. but make sure they understand why they were punished and of course u must only punish on the spot and no thereafter. Becareful when ur pup is about 3 months old cos they like to bite anything even you. so make sure that they know they will get a punishment if they do any wrong. Do not be soft spoken to them and pamper them like a shit Hzu. hehe...last but not least....your beagle will surely be a glutton without exception...they eat like buffalos..so u must not allow them to overeat or else they will become obese very soon. U must adjust an appropriate amount of daily intake for them and follow that strictly. You can give them treats some time but nv too much. If u have time take them for a brisk walk everyday unless u have ample space at home for them to move around. Once again...watch their diet closely and also their ears cos they are prone to infections if their ears are not examined from time to time....good luck my friend!! love your beagle !! :)

I hope to breed Lou later when he is about 16 months old......now he is 8 months old.....How old is Coco now? I plan to breed my second beagle bitch too but she is too young now and she cant possibly breed with Lou cos they are both tan and white. Do let me know if u have interest.....we can talk about it.....it's fun to breed them and see a nice litter of puppies......it's not just about the money....it's the delight and the joy u get from the arrival of new lives......cute little puppies from ur own dog.......can u imagine the excitement??......it's an experience too......i would at least let my bitch whelp a litter in her entire life b4 i spay her to free her from the pain.

And some more her body will run out of shape... BTW, she's only 9 mths now. Yeah, I noe it's an experience for breeding puppies but i don't have enough space for her and her little ones later.. It will not be so healthy for them to live in a crowded environment..

We stay in damansara perdana, was thinking of taking her to Desa park city this weekend for her first day out Yeah she is indeed a handful, the biting and the most annoying is taking her poo out into the living room! oh yeah she will prolly nibble on things until she's about 8 months to a year old. you should prolly train her to do her business outside. usually walks help a lot in training her. and oh yes, u can never stay mad at them for more than 5 mins.
we live in kelana jaya. unfortunately mozart doesnt travel to well. he's extremely afraid of car rides he gets seizures after them, so most of the time we walk him to nearby parks. he used to be visited by a golden retriever, but since we moved house a few months back, he hasnt had much canine contact.

Actually she's trained to poo and pee at a specific spot in the bathroom, she does it perfectly but she tends to bring her poo out after she's done. I read a few articles about this and they claim that they do it because they see me clean up after her.. and apparently their "trying to help too" hahah or she just wants attention. She has a bunch of chew toys, i cant emphasis enough on how many chew toys she has, its practically all over the house, but she still chew on our hands.. so difficult to teach her not to. yeah they do tend to do that, but they should grow out of it over time. do beware though to scan your compound through and through, cuz sometimes if she finds something that smells good to her (usually its birds droppings or droppings from rodents), she'll roll over it and wear that 'doggy cologne' around the house very happily.

However, its gonna be Corrie's first time out, should i let her get used to moving around solo without other dogs? or its ok for her to start mixing around with other dogs right away? hope she doesn't have the beagle shyness problem.. damn im so excited!!! I cant wait to see how she reacts to her surroundings cos she's such a rascal around the house now cos she knows every single inch of it. Would totally put her in her place when she sees the "World" haha
the park is in SS3/42. if you search the following numbers on google maps it will help you locate it. (3.100653,101.607903) its walking distance from our house so he doesnt need to be freaked out by the car rides :)
they are relatively shy, but dont make the same mistake that we did with letting her socialize. mozart is now very timid around other dogs, he tends to run back to us and hide behind us. thats why we want to give him a fair bit of contact with other beagles.
Can you share a little bit more about the experience you had when you took mozart to socialize with other dogs? was it cos they were too rough / dominating towards him? is that why he got shy? were the other dogs in packs ? Sorry about all the questions haha first time owning a beagle I had German sheppards all my life before this, but now i can't anymore after moving to KL and staying in a condo . So i have very little experience with this breed.

mozart was perfectly fine with gin and rum in the old house (our neighbours retrievers). since moving however, he has shyed away. beagles are usually friendly with other breeds. however, i think because we did not expose him much to other canines he is a bit reserved.
ill give u an instance. there was a cocker spaniel loose one day while i was walking mozart, and she was very happy to see him. everytime she went near him though, he'd hide at the back of my legs.

heheh cute, he's a shy guy i think Corrie's cowardice.. she's afraid of her leash.. tried to get her to walk with it but she wont move.. she cowers down , tail tucked below and her leg wobbles..
unfortunately i can't make it this weekend anymore, cos my husband planned a trip outstation. I think i need to get corrie used to walking with the leash as well.. never aspect to encounter such a problem..

Yeah i mean biting lor... I hv actually beat her mouth n say NO but she still wanted to repeat it. But now ok ler at least u knew tat when she bite us, we feel pain.
