Dear All,

I have finally found out that one of our member who found us a jungle where we can bring our doggies for a walk again !!! hooray ! thanks to Surind !

I know this is a very short notice but I do hope that some of you could make it as it has been a really really long time since we had our jungle walk together with our furkids Wink

(I'm very excited over this !)

Date : February 1, 2004 (Sunday)

Meeting Venue : Taman Pendidikan Bukit Gasing

Time : 7:30am sharp

The list so far :

i think 7.30am on a sunday is kinda early leh...
have it later perhaps? 9.30??... it's very shady even at 11 cos forest lerr...

alot of them malas to wake up... [i might not get up in time too woh]

Direction 1 :

From Padang Merbok�s roundabout use the way towards Telekom. After driving passed Telekom on your left you will see a row of shoplot and signboard of a restaurant called �Lotus�. Just before Lotus Restaurant, on your right, you will see a Chinese Temple do keep after your right side immediately after the Chinese Temple as you are supposed to turn on the right junction. After turning do go all the way straight for about 200 � 300 meter and there should be a playground and you can park your cars there. There should be a signboard that says : Tmn Pendidikan Bukit Gasing.

Direction 2 :

Beside the Lasalle School, there is the Raju Restaurant � go straight all the way up and you will reach a T junction. At the T junction do turn to your right and you should be able to see the playground.

Things to take note of :

1. Dogs have to be on leash/harness on all times.
2. Please pick up after our furkids poo.
3. Bring plastic bags
4. Bring water for human n for furkids
5. Wear stockings
6. Have a good pair of walking shoe or sneakers.
7. One dog per person is highly recommended as it�s a real jungle trail.
8. Don�t wear too short a shorts if you are afraid of being scratch by the bushes ya !

Hi !

Well as it will be a 2.5 - 3 hrs walk..... I would like to be able to go back, rest, bath before going out again to eat lunch ler... if we go too late by the time it ends would be somewhere abt 12.30 wor... that is late adi and the weather will definitely be hot by then and I'm sure our furkids will also be having a hard time going with that kind of weather.

I know its not that hot in the jungle but don't forget we will be trekking therefore we will sweat and it will be hot lor.

Hi all,

Have a good walk with your furkids! Just be aware that this place is under MPPJ & actually you're not allowed to walk your dog there.

I used to bring mine there but get scolded by some unconsiderate fella Pirate

If you see any MPPJ enforcement officers .... runnnnnnnnnn!

Hi !

Thanks for your warning as far as I know from one of our member who has been there walking with his dog for the past 1 year there is no problem encountered so far and he have informed me that there is no signboard on the place that says "No pets allow"

for me as long as there is no signboard its an ok place for me to bring our furkids as long as my furkids behave - on leash, i pick up their pee n poo.

do come and join lar... for the puppy it might not be adviseable yet - have the pup taken all the 3 jabs yet ? if not then its actually dangerous to take the pup out for socialise wor...

come n join us without bringing doggie la.... I used to do that before I got mocha too join the gang for the kiara walk alone Wink

Guys,

Thank you for the wonderful time ! I really had a blast out there Cool

goodness it feels soooo good n refreshing to be out in the jungle sweating it out and seeing a few doggies along the way.

It was really good going thru the stream, mini waterfalls ( a few ), seeing Jo with some fishy on her palm and trekking through the steep steep way, getting our sneakers really WET ! hehehe...too bad we didn't manage to see any snakes along the way but what the heck ! fishes is good too.... Lightning too had a really fun time getting herself wet during her trek thru the stream and of course we, getting all the mossy bites ! LOL !

Too bad we didn't manage to take any photos but then again there will be a next time. Thanks again guys for a wonderful time and let's organise this again what say u ?

it will be really great and something for us PJ ppl to look foward to... considering the hectic lifestyle we lead... our pooches need to get connected to mother natue too Wink

btw, if u do go be prepare to let ur precious wear doggie boots and be prepare to get REALLY dirty n muddy and wet and prepare urself to carry her if needed ! LOL....

the walk was GREEEEAAAT ! no matter sat or sunday also is a good day for walks Smile

nope as the place have no MPPJ to kacau at all. No sign saying "no pets allow" and also they have a signboard with WWF sticker there ! hehehe... i guess its animal friendly place after all...... Dogs is one of them too mar.

, the expressions in your guys faces that day was "ALL FUN", though the dogs looked a little shocked Wink

. Especially when we we're tracking up the stream. First time I think for them. But considering Baby & Lightnings size, we should take a shorter trail. Next time.

Did you enjoy it? How long did Baby take to recover after that?

Honestly, the trail that we took three hours to finish, I finished in 1hour 30 mins. Of course, hardly any rest and Anjali can just go non-stop. Oh yeah, I did not use the road from the top of the hill back, its too long. Its better to track back through the forest and behind the houses. Faster. Next time Smile

Just got my comp back, finally. Yes....

Had fun that day? Hows your feet now? Your dog looked like she really enjoyed it, but must have been a little shocking for her as well. Too long a route for them, next time we will take a shorter route ok Smile

I thought we would finish it faster, cause normally that same route is 1hour 30mins for me and Anjali. But atleast I got to show you guys about 2 and 1/2 of the 4 official trails there and most of the exit/entrance points so you can go next time on your own and not get lost Smile

Me & Anjali have our own trails there, thats harder, but if you are up to it next round let me know and I can show you it lah.

We'll, next time you are going, let me know. Im always up for a morning walk. "Very restless"..hehe Smile

Actually, my fav time to go is early morning, around 6.30 after it just rained. Cause then, the stream is bigger and the mosquitos dont really start coming out till things dry up a bit. Actually, while it is still drizzling, is when I go in with Anjali. Just take my car key without the signal opener.

Oh, about the cramps, even if you had warmed up, you would have stil had em. The next time you go though, make it soon, you will have less and less of em. Till the 4th time you go, then no pain at all. No pain no gain right?

Hey, I was supposed to go today morning with my friend and his dog, but he got caught up, so we are going in the evening. Want to join us? He is bringing his wife and his male Alaskan Mamute, so cute, but so black like a wolf.

Inform Ming and Cloe as well. This time, we will go just for short walk. Im going again this Sat morning also.

now, i'm recovering... hahahaha, old lady its like that la. yup lightning definitely enjoyed the walk... when she got back she was still as energectic as before ! goodness, wonder where she got all her energy from. LOL !

anyway, for u its easy coz u have been going there on a weekly basis and got urself soooo used to the trail and walking. don't forget there is lots of ppl here like me - long time no walk(due to the kiara trail closure)

I think its safer to take a shorter route next round n see how's the performance of the other members with their doggy.

I will plan another one again (hope it will be sometime soon ya) dun worry we still need u to be our guide. its fun to have more ppl though. Wink

well, shih tzu got short legs and long fur so most probably will be very tough for them esp they are mostly indoor and is not such an active dog compare to others.

I didn't dare to bring my minpin up and true enuf the trail is definitely not suitable for them. The next time we will try a shorter route and maybe an easier trail but no gurantee how easy... coz i have not been there before this too.

there is a gathering on the 21 & 22 at BU lar... this is done TOGETHER with the training. Might not be a good idea since we got gathering liao. Lets make it somewhere in btw the gathering then we get to meet more often n the doggie get to social a bit more.

Doggie might be tired after going for the obedience training (for those who join) and those who didn't might be a bit too pack... joining from one gathering to another jungle trekking.

Just my point of view... u can organise it if there is lots of response asking for it.... or do it like me - an impromptu ones.

well, each individual dog is different even though they are of the same breed.... they each have their own cute lil personality that comforts us. I understand what u mean. The one i love is kept deep in my heart - one of the reason u won't hear me say abt her often as she is too precious to me. Sometimes I'm afraid I'll forget what she looks like or all her cute stuff but I know I won't.

I can never really talk much abt her coz it still hurt losing her .... but lives goes on... I really hope to be able to meet her back one day as my next dog Tongue

hmmm..we can always make it tough by adding "carry ur fur baby" condition!

will try shalom on some hill slopes in cheras next weekend and see how she fares....and walkies by the stream as well..my westie hated the water parts of the walk but loved just about every hill / slope especially the downhill part. of course uphill...the westie wld want to be carried sometimes...he just won't bulged...sigh sigh..so much for being a hunting dog breed... Frown

MIPE means : Malaysia International Pet Expo its held on the 1st week of march in Mid Valley.
