Re: [black kitty] Central Park Outing [In reply to] Can't Post

Nice to meet up this morning. Your Junior is so cute indeed. Hope our JoJo did not traumatise her with her aggressivenessBlush. JoJo is all worn out from the happy play & romp this morning (we'll have a good night's sleep tonightTongue). Look forward to meeting up again next week and hopefully June can bring her Whisky as well. Its very good to have our kids socialise more often amongst their own kind so as to enable them to grow up as normal doggies.

Btw, the owner of Wonderful Pets did say that Central Park at BU is one place that does not create too much fuss for us dog owners unlike a lot of other places. So I guess Central Park will be the venue for meeting up until other alternative venues can be sought.

Hi Richard, yeah, we did have a gd time last Sun; especially Junior. She was happy. First time letting her to roam & play in the park. Really play like 'siao' Wink That nite she really had a gd sleep; went to bed so early.. Did not disturb us; I could do my ironing without any disturbance. Hehe.. We thought something was amiss coz Junior went to bed so early ... Tongue but she was actually very, very tired.

Got her battery re-charged. This morning was back to normal.. so active... Wink I've informed another dog lovers bout the gathering for this Sun, 11am Central Park. Hope she'll be able to make it with her furkid.

Keep in touch..

(Yr Jojo is such a darling....)

Hi June

We did meet up last Sun. Richard brought Jojo & me with Junior. It was fun tho, both the furkids were so happy & excited Smile. Jojo was shy at first, but later, both were playing like mad... After chasing & playing, both got so tired & exchausted.

We'll be having the 2nd gathering this Sun, 11am at Central Park. Hope this time you'll be able to make it with Whisky. I've invited another dog lover as well.

See you guys then.. Anyone else to invite?

Re: [black kitty][junecheah]Central Park Gathering [In reply to] Can't Post

As mentioned, the owner of wonderful Pets at SS2 did say that BU's Central Park is one park that is dog friendly. So, we don't have to be too worried about getting any problems if we have more Rascals there on Sundays. However, it would be best to do it in the first half ie. morning as there are fewer people at the park as compared to the evenings.

It would be quite a sight to see more JRTs running and playing there at the same time.

Hi Jasmine,

On Sunday we have to attend church. Anyway, you guys go ahead with the gathering. I'm sure your JRT will love to play with each other.

Lately, I'm quite busy with works and also has to worry about Harry, the cocker spaniel. Still looking for someone to adopt him. Maybe I will join you all when I'm free. Keep up with the gatherings. Who knows, maybe it will become a weekly event for JRTs.

Hi nairud,

Congratulations!! At last you have decided on a JRT. :) What made you chose a JRT? I told my wife yesterday that you got yourself a JRT and my wife asked whether you decided after seeing a gang of ruffians at our house the other day. Hahaha. We are happy for you. JRT is a fun dog to play with. They are very active and if you are a sport person, you will enjoy that fellow. Have not thought of a name yet?

Re: [nairud] JRT ZONE [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Nairud. Welcome to the family. You'll have loads of fun with your JRT especially when she gets older and become more stable.

Fortunately for us, my mum is home to look after JoJo while my wife and I are at work. However, my mum was away for 2 weeks barely a month after acquiring JoJo and we did have a tough time with her as we don't practise caging. We substituted caging by confining her to a specific area at home ie. kitchen. Imagine the state of the kitchen when we get home form work. It was like a war zone with the newspaper (which we lay out for her to do her "dirty work") shredded all over. I must say those were very trying times indeed. Alas, we can very much leave her to have the run of the house now even when no one's home.

Remember, patience is very important when it comes to training and to reprimand them when they get out of line. Make sure you don't reprimand them half-heartedly or they won't learn (that's why my wife has a tough time with her even nowTongue)

Dmax,

Think saturday would be better for you? It would be a blast if your Rascal gang can join. As some have to work on Saturdays, we could try to arrange evenings at Central Park, BU.

Re: [richard912] JRT ZONE [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi,

Now i'm just hoping that she'll settle down quick so that i can leave her alone in the house without having to worry that she's makin all kinds of sounds to get attention. I know she's lonely but then what to do. It's part of getting used to a new environment and it's part of having a pet dog for me also.

When will be the best time to teach her all the basic obedience training? she's about 9 weeks old only. moreover, housebreaking is kinda hard so far. I'll only have to time play with her after work and b4 goin to work. Now i'm missin her already...*sigh. It's just 2 hours i left her at home for work. heheheAngelic

When i'm around her, she just can't keep still. Can take any good picture...keeps on tryin to get close to me. wherever i go, she'll follow. hahahahahahaLaugh. looks like i have to wait till my gf comes back from holiday and then she'll have time to housebreak her. attached with this post is a picture of my pup

Re: [nairud] JRT ZONE [In reply to] Can't Post

She is sooo cute!!! Then again, all puppies are cute.

My JoJo is already 7 months and we have managed to get her to sit, stay, up (jump up) and "drink your water" on our own. Am planning to have her registered for training with MKA some time soon. Hopefully, after the basic training, she will be better behaved.

I remember back when my JoJo was younger, we usually play with her so as to wear her down (JRTs are too energetic) before bed time or we won't be able to sleep in peaceCrazy. She loves chasing after her favourite pink ball, even now. I don't know about others, but I've always had the tendency to talk to my dogs. Over time, they will be able to comprehend you better.

Toilet training is the most difficult part. She still does her "dirty work" out of the designated areas from time to time and she still gets a "wallop" from me if I catch her doing it. Remember to only reprimand if you catch her doing it or she won't learn. Fortunately for us, our JoJo who loves to sleep on our bed has learnt to do her biz on the newspaper in the attached bathroom at nights since.

Good luck with the training. You'll have lots of fun with her...thats guaranteedWink

Hi Dmax

Yes, no problem, we can alwiz meet up any other time. Just wondering you must be having a good time with 3 JRTs at home. Or was it a hard time when they were still puppies? Angelic There's a article in yesterday's Star paper (19/04/04) bout a missing JRT. ShockedFrown A teenage gal lost her 3 year old Russ when he accidentally dashed out from the main gate. Poor doggie...

I just can't imagine if I lost Junior.... UnsureMad Nowadays, Junior has been so close to us, everyday, she'll come play & manja around b4 going to sleep. Sometimes, she'll be cuddling in btwn my hubby's leg when he's watching the teli. Just like our little baby... Smile

Do you have any photos of Harry? My fren might be interested to take him. Awaiting yr reply...

Re: [ALL] JRT ZONE [In reply to] Can't Post

TOP URGENT AND VERY IMPORTANT

We have received a complaint from the BU Management that some of our members has been organizing gathering at the BU Central Park without the approval from the BU management. BU Management do not allow dogs in the Park in normal day as it is not an official dog park.

We have in the past used the park for three times for AKC RDO Day, Malaysia K9 Day and the Obedience / Agility Workshop and for all the days, we have obtain the approval and paid the rental and deposit for the use of the venue.

Anyone who wish to use the park for their own function and especially dog gathering need to obtain approval from the BU Management and if you are doing it in your personal capacity, please do not use the name of Puppy.com.my.

If anyone of you have more questions, please do not hesitate to post here . Myself, Ming Yang and Boon will be able to answer your question on this issue.

Thanks

Re: [richard912] JRT ZONE [In reply to] Can't Post

BU has several staff working full time at the Central Park and they obviously know what is happening at the park everyday. BU Management has been kind enough to rent the park to us for three times for our pass events and we would like to continue the good relationship with them. I think there is a No-Dog sign board there at the park and we would have to adhere to that rules unless we have special permission to do otherwise.

Cheers

I mean no disrespect but does the BU management complain to you guys everytime they spot a couple of owners with their doggies in the park? Furthermore, what if we live in the neighbourhood and decide to go for walkies there with our doggies? Would you guys be implicated oso?

Anyways, we will refrain from organising any form of "doggie gathering" that may lead you guys or puppy.com into any trouble which would jeopardise your venue for future activities.

Hi Khoobg

I'm the one who suggested to Richard912 that we meet at Central Park. Wasn't aware bout the rules & regulations; sorry if the gathering of the 2 JRTs has cause any inconveniece or trouble. I'm just wondering, if I were to bring Junior for a walk in the park, do I need any permission from BU Mgmt? Angelic B4 us, I remembered seeing another couple bringing their furkid, (a lab) strolling in the park.

Another question is, what do you mean by "if you are doing it in your personal capacity, please do not use the name of Puppy.com.my."?
