King Charles Spaniel
Height: 12-13 in
Weight: 13-18 lb
affectionate, obedient, gay, friendly, even-tempered, gentle.
Origin: Great Britain in the 1600Ęs. This breed is incredibly popular in
England. They were named after both Charles I and II, who adored this breed.
This dog was bred exclusively to be a companion animal. The Cavalier King
Charles Spaniel's coat is long, silky, without curls, and there's feathering.
There may be a slight wave to the coat. They need weekly grooming care and
their coat does shed.
Colors: Blenheim (white base or ground color with chestnut markings),
black/tan, solid red (ruby), tricolor (white ground color with black markings
on the ears, tan markings above eyes and on cheeks). Tail is either docked or
of medium length. The eyes of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel are large and
round. They are truly a happy dog! Should live and sleep indoors close to
their family. Require minimal training; socialization, obedience. Exercise:
only need minimal daily exercise which makes them an ideal breed for elderly
and for those living in city, apartments or homes without a yard. They are
great with children, pets and with other dogs.
